Why isn’t new safety anywhere in rankings on the portal tracker link from 24/7?

I don’t see him in top 50 when searching by position and I assume he is a top 50 safety. Just wondering where he stacks up against the other safeties according to the “experts”

Heard that and glad he’s on board. My question is why he is not listed on this site, which is linked on main thread at top of this board. It’s top 50 safeties. I do not follow recruiting a ton and again, glad he’s on board. But just wondering why he is not listed at all on this site.

They have him listed as a CB, but he plays S.
On3 has him classified correctly and he's the #2 safety in the portal so far.

I was checking the On3 2025 transfer portal player rankings and they have Cooley ranked 94th, well lower than i expected.
Am I missing something?

Probably not, but expect a lot of downvotes. The recruiting board definitely isn’t lacking optimism.

Right now, during portal transfers, there are a lot of recruiting board tourists, visiting here.
This in addition to regulars. I attribute much of the hype to the tourists.

We recruited him as safety but pretty sure he has primarily played nickel previously.

And he’s low on the CB list because he didn’t play boundary corner. They and On3 have a different way of looking at nickel. LSU clearly sees him at safety like On3 who has him #2 there. 247’s 88 grade for Cooley would be somewhere between #5 and #10 for safeties depending on whether they would grade him differently as a safety.

I am a recruiting board tourist. That’s perfect way to describe me. Def out of the loop on a lot of this stuff. But a big LSU fan and the jack arse above who thought I was trying to dirtbag the commit couldn’t be further from the truth. Actually quite the opposite. I was looking for optimism and was kind of baffled why I could not find him at all on the first page of safeties if he was so good. I understand now why, bc he was listed under cornerbacks for some reason. Believe me I wanted to see his name as the top safety when I clicked on that link.
