I'd glad the kids are getting paid. It's long overdue. It's the compensation with absolutely no restrictions that I have a problem with. There needs to be contracts and repercussions for breaching said contracts(for both parties) I mean, we've seen kids sign with a school in December and that same kid jump in the portal 3 months later. There's got to be ways to reel the shite back a bit. I miss it. I miss celebrating commitments, but you simply can't do it in the state that it's in currently

Because stories like "Money Ball" really happen. Schools have a budget and must allocate wisely, and get lucky, in order to balance the roster for maximum benefit on the field. The differing strategies, opinions on value($) of prospects, and which positions are prioritized year to year keep it exciting for those that still enjoy it.
The biggest gripe I've seen from most who've been around a while or I believe truly enjoy following recruiting, is the emotional/invested change. It's hard to really latch onto a kid or expect anything because it's all so fluid and unpredictable. That's been the biggest transition for me. Used to be the surprises in a cycle were late or few and far between. Now it seems every recruitment has intrigue because you never know who's gonna go nuts with the dollars. It's fun, though frustrating at times.

I don't think you are made for recruiting. Maybe you should just stay away.

You’re full of crap!!!
You don’t even recruit the transfers you idiot. You buy them to.
Loser
You guys are the same ones that say they should go to the school because they can make them better for the pros instead of taking the 2 million in front of your face. Let me put 2 million in front your face and you turn it down. There is very little recruiting anymore….. maybe 3 stars and down.
This place is so hilarious. I actually come here for the laughs.

It exists because there is still interest in recruiting...which is now more than just HS recruiting. However, I agree with the OP in that my personal interest in recruiting is lower than ever. Particularly in the summer.
While there technically wasn't any before, the firmness of a "commitment" is weaker than ever. All that really matters are negotiations in in December. So I don't necessarily get excited...or disappointed about "commitments" made now. Plus, you can only expect a shelf life of one season from a guy even if he does sign. Obviously, you hope for more. But from an expectation level it's foolish to think a signee will secure anything in your team's program for more than a season.

This is the only place I come for recruiting news and updates concerning LSU. If you’re an LSU fan, there’s no better place.
