Why do we not go after committed bama and georgia players more often?

I do not understand why we do not press every single top Bama recruit like they do ours. Do we just let them have these kids and then think that an 18 year old kid that picks Bama is incapable of picking another college? Feel like it's either we're scared or we're lazy.
P.S. I don't want to hear about John Emery flipping. He flipped because we put an absolute beat down on them in Death Valley.

You think they don’t try? Just because they don’t end up flipping doesn’t mean LSU wasn’t keeping up the contact.
Truth is you have no idea the phone calls, texts, FaceTimes, etc that coaches put in to try and get kids. Doesn’t mean the coaches are scared if they can’t flip a kid from Birmingham that’s committed to Alabama. Just means that Bama and Georgia does a good job of retaining their commitments.

Everything you said is the exact opposite of what happens in reality. If we’re interested in a kid committed elsewhere, we absolutely go after them. Just because they don’t come here, doesn’t mean we don’t press them. John Emery was interested in flipping before the UGA game last year. That was just the straw that broke the camels back.

Yall are right, I have no idea what is going on behind closed doors. However, I do know two things:
1. We're not flipping these kids
2. They're flipping ours
I mean even if all we do is get their top 5 recruits to come on vists, you're still making them sweat. Whether we get them to flip or not really is not the most pivotal part for me.

It's a waste of time and resources that could be used on a kid that wants to come to LSU.

The same reason ugly girls don’t waste their time trying to steal hot girls’ boyfriends.

Cause we have a hard time just to get a non committed player. Lol

I mean is it really not obvious why it's a struggle? Compare our win/loss records and head to head matchups the last decade.

Emery had a lot to do with efforts by the staff not just performance on the field.
It’s very very hard to flip kids committed there. The coaches use the same tactics. They spend double what we spend on recruiting. We are starting to catch up though. Look at the amount of analysts and shadow staff we have hired.

Because they win the big games and we don’t so it would be a waste of time and resources going after those kids. Until we prove we can beat Bama like we did Georgia nothing will change.

not trying to be a "dick" or anything but, what players have bama and uga flipped that were committed to LSU?
just curious. can't recall many. getting old. memory starting to slip away.

Going after Bama, and to some extent Georgia, commits is not about getting them to flip necessarily, it is to get those other two schools to spend resources re-recruiting guys that have already committed to them. O should be on the phone right now working Jayson Jones, the DT that’s committed to Bama. Make Bama spend time and resources keeping him in the fold. Maybe they’ll have less time to work on Roy and Guillory.

It is a business case. How much time and resources do you have to commit to a recruit. Emery came because of lots of things. UGA beat down was an opening. He was an instate kid. We are a very good program and our depth chart was wide open.
Had Emery been from Macon Georgia instead of south Louisiana he would not have flipped.
For an out of state kid Unless there is a depth chart issue or a Louisiana connection once they commit to Bama or Georgia we do not have the recruiting bandwidth to flip them.

Come on man, just last year we recruited Byron Young, Tualia Tag., and Christian Williams pretty much to NSD or when they shut us down.

And I don't follow recruiting too closely but in years past I recall hearing about Bama "sending" players committed to them on official visits to LSU on the same weekend LSU is hosting a player that's deciding between LSU and Bama to recruit them for Bama while they are at LSU. Haven't players committed to Bama on official visits to LSU been asked to leave their official to LSU in the past? Is it for doing this?

Wrong. Good thing the coaches don’t quit as easy as you
