I heard that he told Michael Mauti of Mandeville (now at Penn St for those who don't know)for months that he was one of a handful (3-4) of LBs he was recruiting. Then Mauti found out from multiple fellow recruits that Meyer was telling every LB recruit he talked to (at least 10-15) that exact same thing. He made the kid feel like he was one in a million when he was actually 1 out of like 15. I know every coach does this to some extent but just the way he did it really pissed him off and he scratched them off his list quick.

some of it very well may be, but not 99%. the incident with toliver definitely happened, as well as the moore situation. i'm pretty sure there are also quotes from snead as well, although he could have been lying luther davis style

I remember at the Heisman Trophy presentation, right after Tebow was announced the winner, he dialed a cell phone and gave it to Tebow to help persuade a top recruit to come to Florida and win a NC.

Recruits have spoken about how he talks about other schools. P. Peterson didn't like him for that reason. Then he flagged his arse.

Everything I have heard so far, leads one to believe he is a STRICTLY negative recuiter. He only tells you why NOT to go to other schools. This was probably necessary at Bowling Green and Utah, but he shouldn't need to do this at a major program like UF.

Not trying to say just Florida/Meyer does this...but do you really think the NCAA will ever come down hard on any major program afer what happened to SMU (a once major program)? Or how about what they did to Bama at the early part of this decade? They just came down hard on New Mexico (a who cares? program) for things that make the Reggie Bush/USC situation look like murder.
I know, you know and all of us know a lot of rules bending, breaking and even downright shady things go on with recruiting in A LOT of schools. But very recently major programs aren't being touched barely at all and they know they can get away with a lot.
