You do realize that that speech is a hoax right?
I know it's a hoax. That was a bad attempt of me sarcastically responding to posters who actually think slave breeding caused today's black athletes to be superior. That's why I added the
As for the subject being discussed, growing up in African American households, a lot of the times the kids come from rough times so they used sports ( mainly football and basketball) as an avenue to get out of poverty. That motivates these players to keep going and working hard to get to college and eventually the pro level.

As for the black/white comparison..alot of black kids feel the need to perfect the sport with dreams of actually making it big..where as the majority of the white kids see it as a hobby and wont take it as seriously..
Bingo. They work at it. Are white people genetically superior skiers? Are Russians genetically superior chess players? Are Canadians genetically superior at curling?
If you think the answer is genetics, then you don't know anything about genetics.

It's simple, blacks are superior athletes and more blacks live in the southeastern portion of the country.

Some people are just narural athletes. U can practice everyday and still not be as good as someone who is just more talented. Ke Ke Mingo didn't play football until he was in high school.

Im black and I dont agree with this..put some of them black 5* recruits on a soccer field and see how long they last..
Ive had the privilege to play football with some white guys in HS who ran 4.6's but at the end of they day they only wanted to play baseball..

It comes down to which athletes have more fast-twitch muscles (speed) and which athletes have more slow-twitch muscles (power & endurance). Both races have both, but generally more of one than the other.
However just using the word "generally" could be perceived as stereotyping a whole race, as Michael Vick most assuredly has a predominant amount of fast-twitch muscles (speed), whereas Kenyan marathon runners (endurance) and DLmen like Reggie White (power) had mostly slow-twitch muscles.
The same can be broken down for caucasian athletes. Who has more fast-twitch muscle? Wes Welker or JJ Watt? Who has more slow-twitch muscle? Johnny Manziel or Mettenberger?
Then there is the case of the length of the levers, the arms and legs. Shorter levers are more conducive for actions of power (ex: Offensive Guards), while longer levers are more favorable for speed (ex: Offensive Tackles).
Intangibles: What do these athletes do to enhance their natural ability. Training, study, technique, coaching, playing all year long, etc can make someone with less natural ability surpass other athletes with more natural ability. Why is Joe Thomas better than Jermon Bushrod if Bushrod has longer levers and more fast twitch muscle? Why is Usain Bolt faster at track than Calvin Johnson when both have long levers and fast-twitch muscles?
It's not a question of race. It's a matter of genetics and applied effort, and the South has a smorgasbord of athletes who possess both factors.

Jimmy ""The Greek" Snyder got fired from CBS and basically blacklisted for saying Slave owners used to mate the "big male with the big female..."

Tons of people run4.6, but few people run in the 4.3's. Football and soccer are two different sports. Football ball is all about being athletic. Soccer is more like basketball a game which is more skill than athletic ability. If soccer was the number one in America, it would dominated by blacks over here as well. Look at Brazil for example.

Football does kind of remind me if gladiators. Which were slaves. And in slavery only the strongest survived.
But yeah its been a very long time, and not every ones family were here in the states during slavery. Mine sure as hell wasnt.
Also an advantage in the south us being abke to be outside all year ling playing sports. That may have something to do with it.

What? Im sorry but this is whats holding us back in the sport. Our best athketes dont play soccer. Some if the best players in the world are black.
Pele is black.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the REAL answer to why southern athletes are superior. It is the FOOD! Everything's fried, lots of Tabasco and coffee with chicory. Boudin, jambalaya, etouffee and gumbo make us faster and stronger.

Please link to the study and your methodology that indicates selective breeding had any causal relationship to the dominance of the black athlete. Your only evidence is that there was slavery for hundreds of years in the South. If you think that suggests anything without further extrapolation you are mistaken.
There was an article that pointed out that the people from Africa (the area that the slaves came from) produces the best athletes. Then went on to say the south has better athletes bc of the collective amount of people (slaves) that are from there. Yeah they've migrated north but look at an ethnic map of the US and you'll see why the south still has the slavery gene; more so than anywhere else.
I'm not trying to be racist but this has been covered by the national media before. Yes they got some backlash but it doesn't take away from that theory.

Is every African American athlete automatically the best? No. But the numbers are hard to argue. The "slave blood" stayed predominately in the south. When you make a group of people do all your shite work, of course they're going to eventually be faster, stronger, bigger than the rest. Do I think they evolved? No. But when your buying a slave, there's really no need for a fat lazy slow dude who can't work. That's selective breeding in a sense bc they bought and sold the people who can get shite done.

I think about this all the time. What if Allen Iverson or Reggie Bush played soccer instead of their respective sports. Our soccer team would have been deadly. America needs just one black American soccer superstar to draw interest.

Trust me I aint taking nothin away from the black athletes in any sport. I agree we are dominating, but I cant give the credit to some slave blood genetics..its the determination of these kids who most times aint got no other route..

You know how many white kids actually believe they will go on to play some sort of college ball? They're disappointed just like blacks who don't make it and want to.
You know how many blacks that AREN'T dirt poor that make it to the NFL?
Remember those 2 black track stars (the names escape me at the moment). They were from the same part of Africa (slave territory) and were the greatest 2 sprinters in the world. One actually moved to Canada and grew up there. I realize this is 2 instances but you don't find it odd that the 2 fastest people in the world, separated from their land at an early age, are from the same area?
Why are Africans and black countries not tearing shite up in the Olympics? If its not an isolated group then the entire race should be dominating, no?
And you're using a circumstance for certain kids to blanket all black athletes in a group of poor kids who are desperate to get out. Yeah, that's the case for some. A lot even. There's just too much dominance in sports to blame it
"Wanting to get out".
There are kids that no matter why they do, will never play in the NFL. No matter how hard they work. No matter how many steroids they take. No matter how fast they shave their 40 time down, will not play. Determination alone will not get anyone to the NFL. There has to be some talent to work with.
Numbers. Can't argue with them.

Oh, yes, they can...and they will argue in the face of overwhelming numbers and facts! Yes, denial/d'Nile is in fact a river...it's the stream of consciousness that is currently flowing through your lying mind!!!!!!! That's an original quote...and you can book it!
