Seems like to each his own. Those who enjoy the soap opera of recruiting can pay for the info. Those who have a mild interest, check in from time to time, but recognize that what happens happens and there is nothing that will change it will save their $ and just read sites like this and Dandy Don.

My only beef with the pay sites is that they help create this environment that encourages athletes to do incredibly brazen things and in some cases harm their personal reputation for attention. Frankly, it's the "look at me" stuff that has made recruiting less interesting to me. I still want to know who the potential future Tigers are, but the drama has become so much the norm that it's now expected. But, to each his own.

I don't make a dime off 247, I think we're lucky to have guys like Sonny and Shea when other fanbases have Taylor Hamm, but I'm certainly not trying to sell subs. I only pointed out that, in my opinion, a lot of the best and most revealing info doesn't make it here, or is presented here without any context, so people shouldn't be led to assume they're getting a free mirror image of 247 just with a little delay.

Pay sites didn't do this, the popularity of college football did, and it's an entirely different discussion. The kids themselves aren't entirely blameless either, and I don't think it's a coincidence that some of the wilder recruiting antics occur by players that don't live up to hype at the next level. In a way it's just putting a spot light on it earlier.

You're helping prove my point. Sonny and Shea never speak in absolutes and do a great job of just giving the facts and telling you how they think it might go. Then people like bugapaintrain read it, run here, and say for a fact we're getting Rashan Gary and Shavar Manuel.

Exactly, that's pretty much when I gave up on paying for recruiting info. All recruiting info. from so-called experts is nothing more than educated guesses. Even more an issue is that so many of these kids seem to take pleasure in giving out false info. just to have fun.

I'm not paying $$ so some 17 year old can have some laughs by giving out false info.
