Weston Davis On3
Weston has the largest ranking disparity I can remember seeing for a guy in his senior season. On3 has him as a 5* and top 20 nationally. 247 and ESPN have him as a low 4* and not too many spots away from 3* territory. I know for years the consensus was that 247 was the best but over the last year or 2 On3 seems to be taking over. I’m curious to see if his ranking changes much on any of recruiting services or if it stays this all over the place. Has anyone seen him play or know much about his game to say he looks more like a 5* or a guy that is barely a 4*? Excited to get his commitment regardless.

ESPN isn’t taken seriously in sports broadcasting much less recruiting, which is a travesty that they’re even mentioned in it.

On3 is the gold standard right now. 247 lost a lot of their scouting department and has fallen behind. ESPN and rivals have been obselete for years.

I hate to say it but….

I’ve seen Beaumont United play a few times against the school where I work (North Shore). They were terrible. I don’t remember any kid on that team that was anywhere near a 5 star. I think we beat them by 50+ each time.

Ask yourself which one is actually dedicated to recruiting and you’ll have your answer

I don’t think you can judge anyone by how they played against northshore because they make everyone look bad. Northshore is one of the best teams in Texas

Beaumont United would be so over matched by Northshore that Cecil Collins himself would look like shite playing against the talent disparity in those two schools. You can’t judge from that brother.

From a reputable Houston area coach …

We played against him a few weeks back. One of the best looking kids we have played against this year at 6-6 315. Unfortunately he couldn’t move our 6-0 200 defensive end at all. He will definitely need a redshirt year to get stronger in the weight room

No doubt he needs to redshirt. You can watch his film and see he plays too high, but he's got feet and athleticism you rarely see from a kid that big.

He has played 22 games of football ever. Came up playing basketball (he’s a stud on the court too). Not surprised he needs work.

This is how you build a championship program. A 5 star, with only a few years of experience, can sit/lift/learn from at least one future first rounder at his position.

Strength, technique and leverage can be developed. Athleticism can't. That's probably why he's rated so high.

I watched the PNG game live as all games are streamed on YouTube starting this year.Fwiw, PNG was state runner up in 5a D2, and the defense is returning several starters.
Beaumont United is a newer 6a school which was a forced combination of Ozen/Central post Harvey. The basketball team is AWESOME, the football team is not.

I watched Davis the entire night. What I decided was that I know absolutely nothing about offensive line play, I just know he’s really really big.

He won’t be expected to step in and play immediately. He has time to develop. The depth at o-line that BK and the staff is accumulating is staggering especially considering the mess that O left.
