Watching Beckwith chase down people from behind at the UA game really showcased his sideline to sideline speed. For a guy that size to be listed as an ATH in that game and to move like that is scary.

I think his potential ceiling might be the highest in this class.

So what Im hearing from everyone is that LSU is not recruiting this position other than Jones and thats why we dont have others committed. We Seem to be content with whats already on the team, So the only reason at all we are talking with Foster is because he's the top gun and there was at least a chance we cd flip him after his recruiter from Auburn left. Ok makes sense to me. BTW,Who was the most coveted ILB recruit that is on our current roster for next yr?

Not at all. John Chavis' defense doesn't require 250 pound MLBs. SPEED>>>SIZE

That is an EXCELLENT point.

I don't know if I see Jones holding onto that starting spot with Lamar Louis and Kwon Alexander having another year in the system..

I think Jones leaves LSU as the best LB out of this whole bunch (including Minter whom I respect very much). Jones has first team AA talent, and I expect him to be a top 5 pick when he comes out. He needs to add size, and it might be another year before his body is ready. He just turned 18!

We have too many playmakers at LB...Kwon is a beast and would have been Fresh All-American if not for his injury against UF.

I thought they were looking at Beckwith to play DE. You do not hear about Chavis doing a lot of recruiting for the LB position.

I disagree with your depth chart. Kwon alexander will start next year at will, it's between Dieon Jones and Tahj Jones at mike, and lamine barrow will start at Sam

I agree with some of this. The only thing different for me is that I think Jones will begin the year with the mike locked up, and I believe that Kwon and Debo will be competing for the will spot. This is just to start the year, IMO.

Do you guys watch the fricking games? Neither of the jones currently on the team will play mike. Both are safety size.

Lamin barrow will play mike. You can book it.

Not sure Granier will ever line up for LSU with his knee issues. I would say if Melvin Jones can contain his weight he or Fiest will be the eventual guy at MLB for LSU after the 2013 season.

Yeah but i find it hard to believe chavis wont put his most experienced guy at mike in 2013. Like hes done every year.

That is barrow for the retards.

Barrow had some solid games this past year--he could do better at ILB than many think. I believe between Jones & Beckwith, Chavis will develop a tremendous player.

While we are talking about ILB's, does it look like Rueben Foster will even visit LSU? Or will he most likely sign with either Georgia or Auburn?

This! I don't what yall are smoking, but Jones is not a Mike LB. Barrow will slide over and be the next great MLB under Chavis.

If Jones went to Barbe he would have been a top 5 instate guy. Barrow will be just as if not better than minter this year with better coverage skills. Kwon, Tahj and Debo will all be good and rotate well at the outsides to change pace and jones/ beckwith will develop nicely. I see them redshirting jones with Feist as the backup and beckwith getting a lot of time rotating d-end and linebacker to provide fresh legs.

I don't understand the concern of the op. We seem to be set at Mike postion for the next few years already.

At all LB positions really. Especially if we can get Kain Daub back for next year!!! Good looking kid, also very well spoken which is a HUGE plus to me.

Daub is not really an option anymore. Instate, Young looks like the first guy the staff is after at LB

Young does look great, very good athletic abilities. Why do you say Daub is out?
