Imo safety is a bigger need than another corner if we are assuming Banks is back and brooks is playing nickel.

You're getting downvoted for this but it's the truth. The RB room would look MUCH worse without Daniels being keyed in on in zone reads.

The past 3 years have been the least talented LSU RB room I can remember in a long time. You have serious problems when your leading rusher is your QB and your top guy is a walk-on.

ILB - need a thumper that's a starter
S - need a high end S starter to go with Burns. Let the talented freshman group provide the depth.
edge rusher - need a starter here but may want to look at what we have first
C - possibly a starter here since Turner can't handle bigger lineman. might be satisfied with martinez we'll see.
RB - need an elite RB that can get you 1000 yards on the season.
maybe TE and IOL for depth

LSU plays heavy zone in their coverage schemes so it's a bit concerning they're so young in the secondary even though talented. Arkansas DB in the portal is actually a perfect fit in House's scheme I'd be surprised if they didn't go hard for him even though he's injury prone. Zone is harder for a young DB to get on the field to play rather than man. Probably why we did not see Welch this season.

Not WR I can tell you that. Several NFL guys on the roster.

I think Brooks goes back to nickel …and Sage Ryan and Toviano battle for the FS spot

This may sound out there to some but I actually agree with this, but not necessarily for the QB competition. I think we are weak at RB without Goodwin in the mix and have been all year. When there is nickel or dime on the field….hand it off and block them up. That will help our QB.

Running back is number 1. That way we can actually assess the QB competition without the caveat that “Daniels provides the offense balance in the running game.”

The RBs averaged 5.2 ypc and had 1400+ yards. Not horrible with limited opportunities. All 4 RBs are currently returning.

Incoming FR Kaleb Jackson averaged 14.5 ypc his JR/SR yr of HS and Holly is the all time leading rusher in LA HS history.

We need more LB depth.

C, Edge, MLB, S, Cb, but mostly, I think I’ll let the coaches assess the situation and figure out what else we need. They’ve done a great job so far. No reason to think it won’t continue.

The 4 highest rated players by On3 at each position - who are currently in the Portal - are posted at the Transfer Portal Discussion Thread Sticky.

While any of the guys in the Portal could be useful pieces, I think the Tigers would have already offered any of these kids the Staff likes and we'd be aware of them.
As the Bowl games are played, maybe there will be additional entries that the Staff is interested in. The Window doesn't close till Jan 18th so there's definitely time for surprises. Hopefully, we discover that there have been behind the scenes dealings that produce a couple significant contributors. Hey, it's Christmas - we can at least ask!
As I've pointed out before, the Program is on the cusp of being able to consider/take elite players at any position. While we still may take a chance on a player coming off injury like Sevyn Banks this year, it doesn't have to be the case simply because we need his talent if he can recover completely and be the same elite player he was.
The roster is nearly built to the overall level of not having to rely on any one player to be the difference between an at least SEC Average position room or not.

JJ def comes off like an attention whore!!! Cause while 99% of the fan base is super excited about the progress our defense made this year you have a couple dumb F’s like JJ that spew that BS

It obviously has to be LB, everything else is just icing on the cake.

As far as secondary, Brooks is going to Nickel, Burns and Toviano will be safeties, and Harris and the boy from SLU will be the corners.
