i haven't read this thread but i'm guessing you've never been to auburn
it's a "rich" city....and i hate to admit this but it has more "talent" than baton rouge

I question the intelligence of these people.

if recruits were basing their decision on how wonderful a city is, everytime a recruit have the option of playing at Texas or LSU, they would pick Texas every single time.
if UT offers a guy from TX early, they usually pick UT over LSU. i don't think anyone debates that

So Auburn has no attractive girls, horrible places to go out, no alumni support, & in the middle of nowhere. Happy?

I just think its retarted to bash these small town colleges when they have better atmospheres for the most part than big city schools
according to you. I'm sure you are from a small town and feel uncomfortable anywhere else but that doesn't make you representative of the rest of the world.

Those ranking are a joke ever since Florida was number 1 party school. Anyone who has been on a road trip there and had to deal with the bars, metros that frequent the bars, drink prices, cops, & tailgating rules know thats not the case.
the party school and college town rankings are completely different. they include some stupid measures, like popularity of the greek system, in the party school list. the college town list is basically just a nationwide survey of how happy students are with the town or city that they go to school in. it's not surprising at all IMO that there are no small towns other than charleston in the top 15.

Still, Austin > 60 miles away from New Orleans.

Kenny Irons?
Lache > Irons
Lache is more of a K. Faulk or a Reggie Bush.
Irons was just a weaker version of Eddie George.

Born and raised in New Orleans and just graduated from LSU. Back in Nola to start grad school.....FAIL.

wtf?
how?
shite we even have a legit ghetto (scaled to size)
It's a town of 80k in LA with nothing there besides casinos. It's bumfrick. There's nothing wrong with that if you like it there, but it's bumfrick just like Auburn is bumfrick.

it's more about any highly regarded guy who isn't from bama or bama guys that bama didn't offer
Tubs was a poor recruiter for the most part. AUburn isn't THAT bad of a place to be playing football. You guys are talking about it like it's UK.

when was the last time AU did? when brown got hurt and caddy was the #1 guy or when caddy got hurt and brown was the #1 guy
Cadillac was smaller than any recent LSU back that I can remember. Addai maybe?

But really they can sell him on a new system. Or maybe he just likes Auburn. it's just one kid, he could be an outlier.

I thought we were talking about having a true #1 runningback, not a talent comparison.

Wopuld you have said the same thing about Keiland Williams and Kenny irons when Keiland was coming out? I'm sure you would have.

you showed me by being from NOLA yet knowing for a fact that college is better in small towns than cities!!!!! Corvallis > L.A.

So we're going all the way back to Kevin Faulk?
Posted on 6/7/09 at 12:47 pm to Maximus
Westwood aint got nothing on Pullman

And that kid would be stupid to go to LSU anyways. When is the last time LSU featured a back like Seastrunk?
Why would it be a dumb decision for a speedy running back to go to LSU? Do you think the coaching staff is going to demand that he gains 40 pounds and run up the middle?
Seeing as USC and UT have both gotten a lot of commitments from good RBs, LSU seems like a pretty logical choice based on playing time, the offensive line's ability, relative proximity to his hometown, family connections, and the strength of the team.
This doesn't mean he will go to LSU, but your comment really doesn't make sense.
