I don't think there's anything wrong with asking about it either. People can be too sensitive about this stuff.

He was focused on going out of state. We definitely tried, but he wanted to go elsewhere.

I think Williams could have been a Tiger if the coaches were higher on him back then. One of the few misses by Wilson, JMO.

He always said he wanted to leave Louisiana and he did. We tried, but he did not want to stay in Baton Rouge. There was nothing else LSU could've done.

He was a heavy Miami lean until Bama ninja'd him late in the process.

He was being recruited as a DE and LSU definitely wanted him. I am not sure where it was ever said LSU wasn't super high on him. I just think he was wanting to go to Bama because he jumped on the bandwagon to win a national championship. I think we did just fine without him as far as the level of talent LSU pulled in goes. If Aranda and Coach O were here, I don't think it makes much of a difference. I think he was Bama regardless.

That being said, who cares lol. He will lose to LSU next year along with the rest of the Alabama football team.

I know enough to know that he will have to be more than just a 3rd down pass rusher to warrant being the number two pick overall that I can tell ya!!

On the field? No he doesnt. He just needs to put up a huge sack total.

Off the field? Yes, he needs to show he is an elite athlete.

He may be #2 overall in round 2, but that might be a stretch!

Holy frick the stupid in this thread.

If Les Miles would have accepted his commitment, he would be at LSU right now. All these people with these made up stories crack me up.

I don't think it's wrong to simply wonder what happened with a high profile player's recruitment.

This, it's a cop out to say "let it go".

I don't think he wanted to stay in state. Bama offered and he took it.

Didnt he attempt to commit earlier in the process, but the LSU coaches for whatever reason held off on taking it? I remember he had a kid in HS, so the thought early on was he would stick around BR, but as the process went on, he looked like Miami's to lose. Props to the kid for making himself into what he has though. I remember LSU cooled on him big time late, and most around here found it odd, but went with the "trust the coaches" approach. Oh well. Win some and lose some.

What Happened In Tim Williams' Recruitment? All I can say is that he has really developed into one of the most disruptive defensive players in the nation. I wasn't chagrinned when he signed with Bama and I don't think many tiger fans were either. But he is a big-time player now...

It's called coaching. You shouldn't be held to blame for not recognizing it as there is not enough of this commodity to go around in Baton Rouge

Not much different than Shyheim Carter
LSU put their resources elsewhere especially when players make it known they are going out of state

Williams also had some academic hurdles but once Bama got involved he made it

Les's son was on that team and knew if there was any character concerns.

I thought Williams had some issues at Bama as well early on in his career?
