He is from Baton Rouge and Alabama got him. Mel Kiper has him going #2 in the draft. Was it because they play a 3-4? I remember that we were not super high on him and either offered him late or didn't really push hard. People here were kind of indifferent about him.

Chavis was supposed to be a LB guru, but constantly whiffed. Did we want him as a DE?

At any rate, I know LSU can't get them all, but it is a shame when guys from our back yard go to Alabama and are first round picks. Glad to have Aranda and Coach O now to change this dynamic.

Let it go. Win some, you lose some. Sometimes kids want to get away from home. He was one of this kids.

Because he wasn't the best DL on his own high school team as a senior.

He has developed into a quality edge rusher. Hope he continues to progress.

Unless he starts playing more than obvious passing downs, he won't be drafted that high.

Buy he was one of the few that has worked out with Bama (from La).

I have a friend who is a big Miami fan so he followed this one pretty close. Tim was a guy who from day 1 said he was leaving the state and was considered a heavy lean to the U. So much so that LSU basically spent their time on other guys because he was forthcoming about wanting to leave Louisiana. Fast forward to late in the process and he is basically all but packed and headed to Dade county and he takes a visit to Alabama. He commits to them that weekend and immediately shuts down his process completely, not even returning Miami's calls. Take from that what you will.

A simple search for "Tim Williams" provides the information you seek. If more is wanted you can also use the google search on the right side of the page. Change the board to the recruiting board and type in Tim Williams in the "keyword or phrase" box.

I just hope we can get dylan ,and believe it or not him going to florida to play for his senior year actually helps, because this will either help him see what he is missing at the tiger fam,or it will let him know that leaving the state was for him.As for Tim this guy chose bama over all schools, they have a good program but I just smh.

Unless he becomes dominate playing all 3 downs Kiper is smoking dope!! No way in hell he goes number 2 overall.

Yes some guys just want to leave the state it's simple as that. We knew this so we spend very little resources perusing him.

Wrong. It's his early big board for 2017. Get your facts straight....

All I can say is that he has really developed into one of the most disruptive defensive players in the nation. I wasn't chagrinned when he signed with Bama and I don't think many tiger fans were either. But he is a big-time player now...

There's no point in crying over Tim Williams. The kid didn't want to come here, that's all there is to it.

I have him graded at 3rd or 4th round talent, I have no idea what the "experts" are thinking. 2nd pick talent, yeah ok sure!?

He wasn't that great in high school and didn't want to go to LSU. I don't think he was heavily pursued after he made that clear. I personally am shocked at his development. I didn't see that coming. I was never really impressed with this guy watching him at U High. Seems lazy and didn't play hard every down. Shows what I know, he has transformed nicely.

He was ranked the #2 player at his position nationally and the #3 best player in the state.

Also, people saying, "let it go"

I don't think it's wrong to simply wonder what happened with a high profile player's recruitment.

LOts of amnesia here.
Williams was considered one of the top targets that recruiting year, we just never could get his attention.
Nobody should be surprised he's doing well.
I certainly wish we had gotten him.
