What does the staff see in Thomas Perry?

Listed at 6'5 and 325, he seems like a pretty big guy to have on the offensive line. But, according to 247, offers from LSU, UL, and Texas St.

What does the staff see in him besides size that no other power 5 team see?

Very raw. Has all the tools to play at the next level, but hasn't put them all together. He's a project no doubt, but he's a guy they think that with a few years of development can be ready to compete for a spot. Cregg thinks he can play, so I guess that's all that matters.

yeah i figured that but i would think that some other power 5 school would take a chance on him also.

A&M has shown interest, but with their OL class, he isn't getting an offer I wouldn't think. But I'm with you honestly. Seems a little underwhelming. I just trust Cregg knows a hell of a lot more than we do.

He committed to us back in June of 2017. That may have scared off other offers. He is ranked as the 3rd best OL prospect in the state and is a high 3star. He must be pretty decent.

I like him..has a bit of a streak in him..finishes pretty well....like the one play he continued blocking this guy twenty yards downfield..pretty good feet..a lot of upside to him..

If nothing else, he should provide some depth by his third year. He looks like a guard all the way, but he needs to get rid of some of his baby fat which he should once he gets to campus.

his dad Adam played Guard in the 1990s for LSU. Kid always wanted to follow dads footsteps and he grew into a physical beast.. he played varsity at Teurlings a little bit of his freshman and started the last two years and was dominant. He's huge with a lot of upside. he needs to build some upper body strength but it will come. He has a lot of potential and I can see him red shirting and hopefully start his junior and senior years

I watched a few of his games last year, and he seemed pretty solid. Guy has some room to grow.

yep, he's a legacy who loves LSU. I spoke to Adam about his son's recruitment as Thomas' dream is to play in TS. After several years of training under Moffitt and Cregg, Thomas could be that dominant OL we need

A huge kid at 6'6 325 that just drives smaller players back and down the field with that size, but at the next level will have to get strong in the weight room because he won't be able to do that anymore. Everyone is big and strong in college, so you just won't be able to use your size to dominate anymore. But I was watching his feet in the hudl highlights and he seems to move well for his large size, so, he can turn into a good college OT I think. A lot of big kids like that don't move well, but he seems to move well, so I think he can be a quality right OT. I say right side because I don't think he may be fast enough to play the left side, but you never know.

Trust me the kid comes from good bloodlines. I grew up in Covington and if he is anything like his dad he will be All-SEC like his dad was.
