It’s not about the recruiters. It’s about the money.

Definitely less chance without Baker. With the way A&M has bought their current class, I’m not sure why Perkins won’t be in it.

Depends on how much he wants to be at LSU.

If he was seriously considering us bc of Baker then he’s gone.

No one on this board knows anything. I'm not sure what kind of answer you were legitimately thinking you'd get on this board.

If the kid is truly wanting to be developed and we are truly hiring a nfl lber coach, then we have might have a shot.

You have to have BOTH. There aren’t any programs with unknown or lackluster recruiting staffs coming out of nowhere taking top classes. It’s the usual suspects. The only outlier is one guy going to JSU, and that’s because of Deion Sanders, who we all know can punch above his program’s weight and line up money.

With him waiting until Feb, there’s at least a possibility that the new staff can build a relationship with him and keep us in play for him.

The guy has roots in New Orleans. LSU has strong ties to LA and New Orleans that culture is strong at LSU. He has family in New Orleans and has dreamed of playing for LSU in Tiger Stadium. LSU has had a long history of Linebackers in the NFL since Saban despite the shite show years / poor coaching. We now have a head coach with a consistent winning track record. If we get a DC who has track record of coaching LBs within NFL / and getting college players into the NFL our chances are better than they had been.

A&M overall has a foreign culture to many of these urban kids / SE LA kids. That fit is poor. A&M doesn't have as good a track record of getting defensive players in the NFL (32 for LSU vs 11 A&M). Frank Thomas and a good new DC could give him that family comfort A&M won't be able to give him. The biggest wildcard would be NIL - but we still have a chance.

Let's keep an LSU candle in the window for Harold - he waited, that's better than already committed!

Let's go Harold - Ride w LSU!

It will be extremely difficult now that Baker has probably taken a job as DC.

Relationships in recruiting still trump everything. LSU does not look like they’ll have enough time to reestablish that relationship especially since it’s taking forever to fill out this coaching staff.

I still think there’s hope with A&M being the only other suitor here. Just throw a godfather offer at him and hope he likes our DC/LB coach.

Not anymore they dont. Some of these guys referenced the coaching changes in particular losing Corey Raymond but instead of going to Florida to play for him they went to either A&M or Bama. Relationships don't mean shite to these kids if you're throwing $$$ at them.

Why did Crawford follow Joseph to Nebraska then? Sure some of the guys that had relationships with Raymond didn’t follow him, but that was because they also had relationships with the coaches and some affinity built up for the other schools. They hadn’t visited Florida and didn’t have a relationship with Napier. It was just as much of a question mark as LSU from a transition perspective.
