Guys like julio and rueben expect playing time if they are better than players ahead of them. I am of the belief that the best players should play

OU - plays bad defenses, loses another heisman QB after this year.

fixed it for you.

Now I am no OU supporter, and I love to watch Stoops get all red in the face and pissed when he losses a BCS game, but the one thing about OU is they always have great QBs. Even when Bomar, who was supposed to be the second coming got the boot, they found Bradford... a 3 star. Before that was the WR turned QB... a stumble of a year at QB (and not that bad of one). Before that Jason White... before that Josh Heupel... I'm just saying, losing Bradford, while big, isn't a deal breaker for OU in RR eyes... IMO of course.

I didn't make it up, but it did come from T-town. I heard it one step removed from a Bama assistant coach. I haven't posted on this site since before the Bama/LSU game but I do read it on occassion.

You may find this interesting but I posted this info on the bama rivals board on Sunday and it was erased. I appreciate the open board here. I am a hard core bama fan but our board is highly controlled. They only let you read what they deem worthy.

if RR proves he's the best he will play.....just ask Patrick Peterson.

We shouldn't have to guarantee PT to anyone

How a coach can tell the #2 recruit in the country that he will start his freshman year is beyond imagination.

Thank you! Amen

It sounds like the Asst coaches who did most of the recruiting presented fluff (lots of playing time), and then Miles told them the real truth.. Truth is True Freshman at a big time program no matter how talented will most likely have limited playing time.

Julio Jones is the exception to the rule, LSU has more players...

Lafell, and TT are two starters.. the 3rd guys are somewhat uncertain..

It's about setting expectations.. and managing them...

Jefferson is the QB FWIW. Not Lee.

That would make 2 for 2. I've been banned from my own Bama site for posting info about this specific situation. They didn't like it that I knew it before they did. There are bad apples even in Alabama. Not many, but a few.

No you never guarantee anyone shite. I don't care how good they are. You can tell them they'll start if they earn it....thats it. Naming a freshmen a starter from day one sets a poor precedent

im sitting here thinking about this situation...

and here's what i think may have happened... first

off stop saying stuff about reubens dad. thats

just classless, even if he "threw our coaching

staff under the bus"..... let it go its his son

and its their decision where he goes... they dont

owe lsu a god damn thing... ok now back to what i

think might be the case... it said in the article

that benton and randle dont talk on the phone or

nothing but when they see each other they say

hi... maybe they have a problem with each

other.... but none the less they had to know that

benton wasn an lsu committ but thought he wouldnt

ever qualify and now he does and its a problem.

This is pretty simple to me...

If Randle doesnt want to compete and EARN his playing time, I send my best wishes to him as he heads off to Gump nation, or Oklahomo. I personally want players to come to LSU who WANT to compete for the job and who are hungry, not who just want to be given the starting spot...

PLUS Even if Benton comes, he will be a JUNIOR, the SAME as TT will be next year, so really after this upcoming season, Randle can be our definite 3rd or even 2nd WR on the chart behind TT...

It was reported Rueben never said that. Whats messed up is rumors come out and people start bashing a recruit we really want. This is Gump stuff right here. Rueben isnt scared of competition. My God, he played QB because the team needed him and was one of the best in the country. Thats sounds more like someone who isnt afraid of anything.

This is irresponsible. To suggest that an appropriate response would be for no one to patronize the dealership is one thing - boycotts are certainly legal and the most democratic form of private protest. However, to suggest illegality is a horse of a different color.
