re: We offered Bourque as a RB today

I'm saying if I were a recruit and Coach A offered me what I wanted, I committed to Coach A, and then Coach B came back and offered me what I originally wanted, I wouldn't be very happy about that.
Maybe the kid is smart enough to see that other coaches see him as a receiver too, so he shouldn't take it as some kind of sign of disrespect to be originally offered as such.
Maybe he is smart enough to see that the LSU staff will offer him as a running back if in their camp he shows them that's the best position for him.
We can all only hope he has seen the same staff has moved guys to positions that they have been more successful at than the one's they starred at in high school.
If he's coming to LSU, I hope he is the kind of kid that wants to do whatever he can to help his team win championships. That is how things like championships get done.
You guys keep coming on here trying to make us all believe Les is up to something sinister with a kid from Crowley, LA.
If he really did evil things to in-state recruits he wouldn't have had the kind of success he has had for what's going on seven years.
This is an LSU recruiting board that lets pretty much anyone with a computer and internet access join and post.
We get lots of people who are fans of other schools posting about recruits we do and don't care about.
None of us are going to believe that Les is the curmudgeon Aggie fans, board moderators and obviously, coaches are making him out to be.
If you can't see your side is the one that is reaching in this instance, I don't think you have the ability to look at it objectively.
If it bothers you that we don't see things the way you do then that's your problem, not ours.
None of us knows what has gone on and most of us probably never will.
If the kid goes to A & M, I will have no ill will for him.
That doesn't mean I have to like an A & M fan that came and questioned the integrity of Les Miles on an LSU board.

To be honest memphis, this strategy may work in LSU's favor should it continue. If we know anything about Les Miles it's that he is very loyal to his players, sometimes to a fault. The LSU players appear to reciprocate because in 6 years I can't think of any Les Miles team giving up in a game. Troy in 2008 is a shining example of this. More often than not, Les Mile's LSU teams seem to overcome and win. This just doesn't continually happen without a kid getting strong support from his coach. It's Les Miles' most endearing quality IMO.
The timing of Bourque's comments certainly makes me suspicious. Should it be a case of negative recruiting tactics, it won't stick. Once Bourque has the opportunity to spend time with the LSU staff and talk with current LSU players, his outlook will likely change. The aTm staff might end up with a nasty backlash in their hands if they are engaging in negative recruiting tactics.
It's been said Urban Meyer liked to use this approach at Florida. The Patrick Peterson recruitment was the most egregious. In the end it backfired on Meyer. Public remarks by Patrick Peterson during his time at LSU leave little doubt as to how highly he regards Les Miles. The fact that his younger brother committed to Les Miles while still a high school sophomore just lends more credence.
Should this be a case of negative recruiting tactics, I have little worry it will play any part in the end. Should Bourque choose A&M over LSU it will be for other reasons.

It's all speculation from this thread that Sherman is negatively recruiting.
Sherman has repeatedly said that he doesn't negatively recruit because he wouldn't but also doesn't have to. He feels A&M sells itself. He preaches family, education, NFL experience and the importance of the Aggie ring.
I'm not saying Bourque isn't being told negative things about LSU because I don't know that (the same y'all don't know that he is). But I will say I don't believe any of it is coming from Coach Sherman or area recruiter Jim Turner

to think that a coaching staff doesn't negatively recruit is being pretty naive.

Maybe that depends on your definition. Point out advantages of one school over another? Comparing depth charts? That's just recruiting
questioning Les Miles' integrity? That's negative recruiting and I don't believe it's being done by our coaches. If we were to do that it wouldn't start with Les who I believe to be a good guy that's always been complimentary of A&M and it's traditions. It would be Brent Venables the 0U DC

I have been through a lot of ups and downs with Texas A&M athletics, and I enjoy sharing my thoughts and experiences, so I welcome any comments about what I have to say. Thanks and Gig'em.
I think I will hook him up with an internship with big Josh the Wolfman Innes so he can learn how to make it in this business through hard work and no special favors.

Yeah, this could just as well be bs from the Bourque family. I won't say that TAMU is negatively recruiting just because one person doesn't like us. Let's let this one play out.

Looks like Sherman may be smart enough to see he doesn't want all of whatever has gone on out there.
I can't get that link or any that come up with "Top Louisiana recruits Say No to Les Miles in Goggle searches to come up this morning.
There are no such links on the SB Nation website on their front page or under their Texas A & M page. LINK
Like I said earlier, Aggies follow orders and it looks like the hack got the order to kill his article.
Who's team looks like they are doing something shady in this situation now?

If Mike Sherman is negatively recruting (ie. bad-mouthing another coach or NCAA program), it would be the first time. You can knock him all you want, but that has just not been his style.

I honestly have no idea if Sherman is negatively recruiting or if Miles is lying to people. Chances are neither are happening.
I'm trying to look at things objectively and justify what a high school kid is thinking and saying. I didn't think that'd make me popular with some of y'all on here, but sometimes I appreciate a different perspective and I figured I'd provide one I wasn't seeing on here.

FWIW, Bourque reminds me alot of Justin Vincent back in HS. Good pickup.

Let me help you all out...IF LSU wants someone in Louisiana and it is someone being recruited by aTm, we will get him, period!
IDGAF who the coach is, the fact is we will get who we want in LA when up against the Ags, or anyone for that matter, unless you have a title in the last 3 yrs!
ps. AU will never get another, just wait till the clock strikes on that deal.
