Miles said red shirt freshman Brockers is up to 300 lbs and next year would be a 4 year starter. Might be DT at that weight.

Yeah, it was discussed about him being moved inside earlier in the year.

The next few years are going to be great for LSU. If that 2009 class doesn't win at least one NC, I will be shocked.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing a 300 lbs strongside DE like Spears or Hill 315 lbs who played weakside DE.

there's been rumblings that we shouldn't be surprised if he's not on the roster next season. Not sure how much validity there was to those rumblings though.

Their is no rumblings to it. Hes a JUCO and hes expected to play immediately at LSU. We only take 1 or 2 a year for a reason. He didn't do shite and he definitely doesn't have any major injuries. LSU took what, 6 or 7 d-lineman last year? I fully expect Hicks to be gone if he doesn't work his arse off in the spring.

actually there were, someone had a guy in the athletic office that heard he may not be here next year. Like I said, even the guy said he didn't know how valid it was, but that's pretty much the definition of 'rumblings'. Everything else you said is speculation.

The D-line will be good next year and great the following. 2011 - DTs: Bockers, Davenport, Downs and Edwards with Logan and Marsh getting reps. DEs: Montgomery, Aghayere, Clement and Rasco. Bockers and Edwards can both be moved outside depending on down and distance.

By the way, the entire line above is back for 2012 - now that is a scary thought!

Hunter and the Freak would be nice gets. The two Jr. DTs on Slidell's team might also get a look. Both are over 300 lbs.

I was worried about DT for awhile, but NEvis has stepped up pretty good. plus we have Downs and Davenport, I hear akem hicks was injured and now that he is used to SEC speed, he should contribute some valuable minutes next year. Also I hear Brockers has bulked up to 300 and he might play DT....

I am personally happy that lane is no longer with the program!

The question now is "Will Brick be able to coach up the d-line over the next several years?"

Anyone know any players or people close to the team that can give some inside info on Brick's coaching ability?

Just as this discussion has gone, depends so much on coaching...

Glad someone else noticed this. He often runs himself right out of the play. His selfishness to make a big play overrides his willingnes to maintain his gap.

sure he has. He has rushed upfield with no regard for containment whatsoever. He's good at that.
