Don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet. I just looked up our chances for getting a top defensive tackles in 2025 class from Louisiana. The top defensive tackle is Abrum Lewis. From Covington 6’6” 315 pounds he’s not rated at all by 24/7 or On 3. He’s listed as the number for 50th player in Louisiana and shows Tulane or La. Tech lean. The future for Louisiana defensive tackles in our State is not very bright right now.

My man, do you realize the #1 overall player in the 2026 class is a DT from Louisiana?

It seems like the last few years La has changed from having a lot of high quality DL and no OL

To now where we’re pumping out OL like a factory with few DL

Guess all the kids want to play offense now DL switching to OL

Yeah I did know we had one or two coming in the future, but I was shocked to see we really had nothing in Louisiana in 2025. That’s scary

It is a terrible thought. For the top ranked DT in the state to be 50th overall. Who knows though, maybe there’s a Diamond in the rough for 25. I think LSU is going to hit Mississippi hard in 25 for some D-lineman.

It's why LA isn't a stand alone state. Not enough prospects to go around at all the different positions to fill a quality class at LSU. Seems we are choosing to stay regionally for the most part so it's lucky for us TX, MS and the southeast are flush with DTs(relatively). LA seems to be more DE friendly this cycle. Just have to wait for the rankings cycle to catch up on a couple of them.

LSU didn’t offer Gabe Reliford until July and he turned into one of the favorite prospects this cycle

And Reliford is still underranked by 3 of the 4 recruiting services

I can assure you, there will be at least 1 DT prospect that emerges that is extremely coveted by colleges/recruiting nerds.

At this time last year, McKinley and Reliford weren’t even on anyone’s radar. They still had a low ranking with few offer. When summer rolled around, they stated climbing the rankings.

At this time last year, Hill and Johnson were LA’s top DL prospects.

I wish recruiting newbs would spend more time reading and less time expressing opinions here.
