Sounds like a Denver Harris

Maybe. But as long as we go into it knowing there needs to be a plan in place if this kid doesn't work out, I don't see how it hurts.

Having Denver on the team last year didn't hurt us. It just ended up not helping us at all either.

We're extremely thin at the position. We have the best DL coach in the country. Why not try?

We simply can't afford to miss on any DTs we pick up. I agree.

Does he have character issues or is his hunt for money his character issue? I don't usually green light bag chasers, but a 1 year player is a 1 year player, especially at a position of need.

If B Baker thinks he can make it work, I'm all on board.
Denver Harris experiment last year has just made me extremely wary. This season could be a disaster if we don't get better on the DL soon.

We have to get D lineman, huge need. Bring him in and talk it out.

you are retarded if you would pass on a player of his caliber at a big position of need

I don't know if us posters have enough information on his situation to make an informed decision. He does have talent, but why is he moving all over the place?

There would have to be a lot of phone calls to past coaches before I’d commit a scholarship. This is his third college stop (Georgia, USC previously) and it’s being reported that he had multiple stops in HS as well. He’s leaving two premier programs and USC is coming off a horrendous season on the defensive side of the football. Something doesn’t add up.

We currently have the 5th best odds to win the championship. Our whole season literally boils down to what DT transfers we can bring in during the spring.

We have a freaking converted offensive lineman running first team y’all, this is bad. Take any talented player you can and let Bo Davis do his work.

We need a guy for one year. That’s all.

How did he play last year?
Was he a locker room problem?

Those are questions to ask.

Tbh lsu can't really afford to pass on a DT....you get him in for a visit and evaluate him and talk to him and go from there

USC fans late last night on X said he will be returning. If it's true they must have upped the bag to keep him.

Start with a phone conversation to see if there's mutual interest.

If so, then comes the uncomfortable conversation where BK and staff asks questions and sets expectations. At whatever point an understanding can't be reached, you cut ties. If the kid shows some accountability, he may be worth the 1 year rental.

Well said.

NIL sucks for the fans but it will also wash out a player that is not in it for the sport.

Money motivation is NOT bad. It’s not. But it can eclipse play and motivation.

His production hasn't been worth it. But he's had a handler since junior high.

This.
The question is not just whether you would like him on your roster, but what is the cost to have him there. He sounds VERY expensive and underperforms at that price. AND that is before you consider how his NIL might be disproportionate to others, and his locker room demeanor, etc.
