Well Noil is the #1 WR / athlete, Garrett is the best DE, and Allen is the top QB.
TAMU just got a lot of big time players. It's not that 247 likes them. The players they got are just really good.

Told you guys, Fournette is #2
Composite is all anyone cares about, and even then its just for starting shite with other fans. 247 figures some weird stuff in their rankings. They said earlier they chose CRob over LF because tackles are more highly coveted in the league. I personally don't give a shite about that.

I personally think LF should be #1, but the top 10 guys still deserve to be there for aTm.
I do have a problem with the 101 rating though and here it is: 101 is supposed to represent a can't miss, excellent player which is obviously a cut above even the most talented. How can someone be rated a 101, and then be changed back to a 100? That is like saying a can't miss, can now miss. That is like the weatherman predicting 0% chance of rain, then getting adjusted to 10%. To me, it just calls into question their rating methodology.

That's just dumb. How did they pass up Fournette? Wow
Did you see Garrett at the UA game? He was a beast. I didn't know he was that good until then. DE is valued more highly than RB. Simple as that, doesn't mean that LF isn't still a once-in-a-decade talent.

That's the dumbest reasoning I've heard for ranking a high school football player. They're ranking them based on position importance in the NFL instead of skill and body of work?

It should be ranking them at their potential to succeed relative to their position at the college level. These kids are college prospects, not pro prospects.

They'll say the same thing about Myles G in the next few days, book it. Basically said they don't distinguish between 101 prospects, but this is the tie breaker. He did look the part in the AA game so I ain't even mad, but its still nuts to use this reasoning.

I'm sure they would rather put a DE or a OL at the top because they are a lot easier to predict. There is a definite theme among them.
2014 Garrett
2013 Nkemdiche
2012 Mario Edwards
2011 Clowney
2010 Powell
DE DE DT DE DE
They also have a lot more OT ranked high than other positions.

In reference to Myles Garrett, I don't think his performance in my eyes was much of a result of OL struggling as it was his athleticism.
Kid was all over the field. Backside, chasing down backs from behind on play side, and making plays even on special teams.
Can't figure out why he would waste his college career at A&M, unless he's on the Hector plan. He'll end up going the Clowney route by the time A&M's offense wears him out.
You mean...go to the NFL as a top 5 pick most likely? I'll take it.

Definitely is.
I told my BIL 2 years ago that LSU would win a national championship with Fournette.

Quinn now at #94 in the Top 247
He went from like the 15th composite WR to top 10. Does Rivals do another ranking? If they use the games/practice as the reasoning, He should be bumped to top five. I remember Paris locking down the AA game, so why the drop? Brumfield should be pushing composite five star if Rivals does a final update.

It has always been and always will be stupid to rank players at one position against players at another position.
If you are the best at your position, number one in the country then you are the best and should be sought after by ever school in the country. Story ends there.

Maybe I am late to the game but Fournette is number 2 behind Myles Garret
247 dropped a bunch of our players more than 11+ spots. Tony Brown did nothing but hurt his shoulder, but got a 11 spot bump.

For people not understanding guys dropping - more than likely the service did not 'adjust' the player's ranking at all and instead had people jump ahead of them, which then indirectly pushed them farther down.
These sites don't "zero base" the rankings each time they do a revision. They take a sample size that they think need to move and they place them where they want them. What happens to the rest of the recruits that were not touched is just a residual effect.

I know that, but how do you explain Brown jumping 11 spots and guys like Paris (who locked his side down), get jumped by 14 people?

I've decided a lot of this about pushing teams / and players up in the spot light that spark market interest. guys like JCbutt always have an excuse for their player adjustments but to the fans paying attention, it doesn't really make sense.
A$M is getting some nice players, but come on, they have finished 3rd and 4th in the SECW under Sumlin, pay him about 700 K more than Les who has whipped him two years in a row and has zero the accomplishments of Les Miles. 5 million per for Sumlin? Because?????
I don't know get the infatuation with Sumlin at this point because he has not won anything..
The road victory at Alabama was apparently a "We've got ourselves a coach"
No JFF, no Evans...no defense, -will be another roller coaster season for A$M.
