This class has a ton of talent and depth. At this point, making sure the team chemistry works is also important. Given the current streak with Bama, some players and recruits may not accept this last minute change. It's one thing to make a business decision and pick Bama as a school, but it's a whole different thing to publicly ridicule and disrespect a LSU. This situation will be interesting.

So just to clarify

You'd rather bash the kid than to heed solid advice from someone who actually knows what's happening?

Exactly. We're all growing and learning at that age. Whatever school gets him needs to be prepared for a few more bad decisions from him, though. Hopefully not.

Carter is a stud. Kid can do it all. According to my buddy Tangi Parish is very pro LSU minus the handler.

What the frick are you talking about bashing? I asked a question. This board was up in flames when he supposedly did all that.

Shyheim didn't wear BAMA gear to LSU! He has always been a fan of LSU! He felt disrespected by being offered by the OOS schools before LSU, A LOT of kids feel that way!

I have heard the visit yesterday went very well!

I know he showed up to camp in it and I'm pretty sure they asked him to leave. Or I thought they did. I don't remember Shyheim showing up in Bama gear but I could be wrong.

carter is a take all the way. good job by bebe. the Williams kid from uhigh had kids and issues in hs. he looked very good at bama this year and has had no major off field issues. I believe LSU passed on him for various reasons. this is not the eagle scout club. its football.

LSU passed on Tim Williams because he was all of 210 pounds on a good day and they had reservations on if he could keep his athleticism by putting on the weight required to be a DE in a 4-3

Carter did not show up in bama gear, it was the handler

Williams had issues at uhigh and many (incl. miles son at uhigh) thought he was not a good teammate and very immature.

Despite all of this, Carter continually showed interest in LSU, while the Tigers were cautiously receptive. Now we go into the other factor.

Carter is a family guy and he has a big one. There financial situation isn't the greatest, so them traveling to see him play far away would be difficult. LSU has always had a leg up in that regard.

Didn't quote your whole story, but I hope that's how it went down. I don't think many would want someone coming in that wasn't fully committed to the program. Your post, if true, suggests otherwise, & hope there's truth to it

Idk how many times that it needs to be stated, but it was the handler that showed up in Bama gear. The LSU staff will absolutely take Carter's commitment, so that's all you need to know. Keep your terrible opinions to yourself because it serves no purpose.

If we get carter, it is huge in so many ways. Devonta smith becomes an lsu lean automatically and helps us get in with that area handler. Lots of studs coming up in that area for 2017-2019

Thanks for clarifying. Just out of curiosity, given how passionate the rivalry is between Bana and LSU, what was the thinking behind the Bama gear at an LSU event? Unfortunately, the recruit is being caught in a "guilt" by association situation, which is unfortunate. Not trying to flame, but genuinely interested in understanding the process.

yep. why does everyone think Bama was all over Shyheim?

Edited: I did not intend to imply that Carter would not have a Bama offer without Smith. Carter is a top player in the country. But, he's also seen as a two for one.
