From what I'm hearing, his top three schools are UNC, Ohio State, and Syracuse. I didn't know Ohio State and Syracuse was pushing for him until recently. Looks like he is becoming a national commodity. He has always liked UNC so they have never fallen out of his top 3. There's alot of time before he inks a scholly, but I'm hoping LSU makes a good hire so he can at least give them some consideration

It will be interesting to see who LSU hires and what affect it will have on the next two classes of recruits in LA. For guys like Martin, Victor, etc there is still time to make an impact. You gotta get on them now though.

After watching him and Jarell this weekend. I was thoroughly unimpressed yet again. He seems like one of these LA kids who was really big as a young player and dominated but simply hasn't gotten better and isn't growing anymore. Start with Tasmin and continue down the line. I watched them get beat by a decent but long Fleur-de-lis team and score under 30 points in an AAU Semi-Final game.

Congrats to Victor...

As to Coach D comment: Craig and his teammates played soft this past yr... He'll be much better the next 2 seasons playing with his peers...

I agree and with the focus off of running the offense through Felix, I expect him really to mage a huge step next year.

To both of you... I was referring to the New Orleans Elite AAU team this past weekend where Jarell and Craig teamed up with a few other players and simply couldn't run though a relatively weak in state tournament. Including scoring less than 30 in the Semi's against a solid but not great team led by soon to sign to UTEP PG from OP Walker.

He got dominated by people his size... couldn't do a thing. Routinely missed badly from mid range and beyond. AAU circuit is where you make a name for yourself. Not playing 6'foot centers in HS.

I hear you, but you don't hear me...He has already dominated that league... Nothing to prove... It's more for the other up and comers to get their shine own... He is more focused on winning titles with varsity now!

You're a complete idiot if you think he isn't worried about AAU and has nothing to prove. He is a Soph who can easily, EASILY fall out of the ranks if he doesn't show up on the AAU circuits. Your name could be ______ and I would still know you are a hopeless St Aug Homer. He has a bad summer this year and you can bet he won't be ranked in any of the rankings (ask Bridgewater about it). Craig isn't growing anymore and he hasn't developed his skills at all over the past year. Don't be shocked when come his senior year, he is a 3 star begging for the big schools to come back.

Rico is undersized but dominated the AAU Circuit last year, that's why he is going to Baylor.

LOL!!

Maybe you are ignorant if you didn't see where I've stated how soft he has played this past yr...Of course he has to regain his focus and step the game up... Plenty can happen the next 2yrs, but I seriously doubt he has outgrown his abilities... He will have to recognize that competition is always lurking...

I watched the state championship replay of St.Aug vs. Peabody on CST last night. I honestly couldn't tell who Craig Victor was.

St. Aug didn't look like they belonged on the same court as Peabody.

I realize i'm not a scout or anything, but is beyond me how Javon Felix got a full ride to Texas.

Maybe Victor will improve these next couple of years, but he did not impress at all. Ricardo Gathers was 3x the player he is as a sophmore.

It's amazing how this topic has turned into a Rico vs Craig topic...

Ask Gathers about Victor when they matched up 2 seasons ago when he was just a frosh... Craig dominated... This past season anyone who followed him knew he wasn't the same player... Neither was Felix... but there was a reason they both gained some recognition... Couldn't tell ya why their performance just dropped a season later...

You are really reaching with that Rico has no offensive game whatsoever. He relied on pure athleticism in high school. Actually, whenever they've matchup against each other Victor actually held is own and performed well given that he was two years behind Gathers in his development. I agree with you that the St. Aug vs Peabody game was a bad game to watch if you were gauging how good he is. Nobody showed up for that game and even in that bad loss he scored 25% of the total points in that game. I think he ended up with a double double. And that's w/o him being the focus of the offense!

There's a reason why big name schools are after him and it's because he's a big that plays with finesse and has a pretty good mid range game. The best comparison I have for him is LaMarcus Aldridge. I can see him developing into that type of talent. One of the major flaws in his game to me is that he hasn't developed that killer instinct yet, but that is typical with young high school players. Whenever he does and with the continued development of his skillset then he could potentially be 3x the player Gathers ever thought he could be.

+1, I was at his very first game at Tulane his freshman year when he shutdown Gathers. Gather's didn't even make it to double digits in points. What does this tell you....absolutely nothing because good players do have bad games However, I do believe Craig will turn out to be the better player b/c of his overall ability on both ends of the court. The killer instinct needs to come on when he's out there playing though. Maybe I need to call or do something that will piss him off before each game Tell him something like the team's star playing was trying to holla at his girl or something

Indeed... Craig knew how sluggish he played throughout the season and still guided his team to the big dance(Lost 4 games to nationally ranked squads)... He'll have it figured out before next season and will definitely shine... Stay on him Tiger

How in the world did someone in this thread just make a comparison between a guy who is 6'7 and not growing to a near 7 foot Aldridge who is strong in the post these days?

Victor's best comparison right now is Tasmin Mitchell (grew early, dominated early but still hasn't developed wing skills).

I agree.

Victor will be better than Gathers, Martin, and Felix, IMO. Then again, I've felt that Gathers is overrated for two years now.
