Honestly don't feel confident on landing either at the moment. I think majority are expect Moore to end up in Texas class but anything can happening before signing day. I guess it's wait to see who shows up to Bayou Splash that should help a little.
For in-state WRs I thought maybe Washington, Wright, Shepard, or Martin might be targets. People will say they are 3 stars or whatever. Most freshman WR don't start at LSU anyway they usually need to bulk up, learn playback, be reliable and able blocker, and not drop balls.

Not great, I think we need better WR in this class. But I honestly think Berry winds up playing more WR than RB, and that will help out that class immensely.

I don't think they will reach and probably add via portal in December.

Sad part Ffrench to me felt like the best chance at landing one the remaining uncommited 5 star WRs
People were saying we would get 2 out of the 3 5 stars. I told them we would be lucky to pull one.

Brian Kelly has said he wants to build his program primarily through high school recruiting and retention, and I happen to agree that it's the best way for consistent, long term success. And that's what concerns me, at least for the moment, about the receiver recruiting. Now, maybe it will change, we hit on a couple of great receivers in addition to Francis, and my concern will be for naught. I certainly hope so.
No offense to anyone with a different opinion, but it doesn't register with me when folks say that we'll just add guys from the portal. It didn't work out very well when we tried that at defensive tackle, though it should be noted that the pickings were slim in the Spring portal.
We did add two receivers in the portal that are SUPPOSED to be good, but even there it appears, at least on paper, that Georgia did much better with their haul in the Miami and Vanderbilt receivers.
I hope I'm completely amiss, and I may well be. But I think it's a very real concern with this staff. To the disagreement of many, I don't think LSU can simply rely on Louisiana for great receivers every year. There have to be lean years. The staff apparently agrees, considering the out-of-state receivers they are pursuing. Just doesn't look like they're having much luck unless we get a surprise or two.

He can say anything to media and fans but if you lose WRs to draft and portal you have to replace them. None of the WRs from last year class will be starting this year and you expect 2025 WR to come in day 1 take a job? He will be forced to hit portal and get experience.
CJ Daniels isn't from Louisiana and yes he wants to build from HS but if he not landing the top players he will be forced to portal. If he reaches for a player it could turn out like Cryer leaving within 2 or 3 months.
All I'm saying the portal is good to use if you miss and don't see the potential in some HS players further down the list.

I completely agree. If they miss on the receivers they are recruiting, they have absolutely no choice but to hit the portal. But that's where the rub lies; they shouldn't HAVE to hit the portal each year for receivers. People have posted over and over that "all LSU has to do is recruit Louisiana receivers." That apparently isn't the case.
I never said that I expected a freshman to come in and be a starting receiver in 2025. This signing class, like all others, is primarily for two, three, four years down the road. LSU can't start on a path of depending on the portal for receivers every year.
While I don't expect freshman receivers to start in 2025, I darn sure expect some receivers who will be in their third year on campus to start by then. At least at this moment, it seems that none of them will even contribute in 2024.

When he was at the On3 saying he always wanted a Lambo it was over ?
Extremely shortsighted. I'm sure Jetts and Ja'marr can afford Lambos. Malik and BTJ probably could right now as well. Kayshon..... probably not. Your college career and money that comes with that isn't going to make people wealthy. Might make them rich, but that disappears overnight when the tax man comes or the football stops.
