Just being honest. You guys are literally happy with a guy from the Sunbelt. How bad has our program sunk ?

I’m not sure if you’ve ever watched football but sometimes good players slip through the cracks and have to play at smaller schools.

Our #1 transfer is from FIU.

Oh WOW he was honorable mention in the freaking sunbelt. Somehow he is gonna be good enough to play at an SEC level though.
Dude stfu we need bodies. We’re not just going to be able to go grab 4 5 star corners out of the portal. I’m sure the coaches think he can play or he wouldn’t have gotten the offer. Per PFF he had the the lowest passer rating allowed in 2020 out of everybody. Let him get here and compete for the job.

just like the Nichols st. DB they brought in a couple of years ago.
1. There is a pretty big difference between Nicholls and ULL
2. Our Nicholls transfers are two of the only ones who didn’t quit on the team

Just amazes me you put your simple mindedness on display for the whole forum to view.

At least a DB that played at the P5 level. That saw some real competition and can compete at that level. The transfer portal should be full of those kind of guys. Or we can just keep picking 3 star or Sunbelt players.

Since you are a scout, can you tell us what you don’t like about his game to that he’s not worthy to be on the depth chart. Thanks.

Great only 43 more players to sign

You have something to add about how he played or just who he played?

Where did Jabril Cox play before LSU?

Hearing he had a 2nd to 3rd round grade at ULL. Could be a huge get.

Here, I have a gift for you:
This was apparent during Louisiana’s victory over Appalachian State as Garner and Co. held the usually lethal App State air attack to just 133 passing yards. Garner is flying up draft boards and is presently graded as a Day 2 selection by a number of scouts. As one scout from the area told me, shutdown corners with Garner’s size and athleticism are impossible to find.
And then again, from the same site three weeks later...
Louisiana CB Mekhi Garner
Mekhi Garner truly has one of the most unique physical profiles among the 2022 NFL Draft sleepers. He’s 6’2? but listed at over 210 pounds. And that frame density undoubtedly shows up on tape.
Garner has an abnormally strong frame for a cornerback, but he’s shown he can still make plays on the ball. Additionally, he’s physical coming up to the box and can carry a lot of momentum downhill with his straight-line explosiveness.
