Now, he was in a great situation at Tulane. Excellent run game, former P5 WRs and a good OL. But he is clearly physically talented with a good feel for the game

I casually watched bits of their games. He looked pretty good to me. Bear in mind though I didn’t see a ton of their games.

No thanks. He’s a great G5 or low-level P4 QB, but he’s nothing special. He would be a huge step back from Nuss as a passer. His accuracy was very inconsistent in their losses.

I actually wouldn’t hate to give him a look in spring ball. Kid did show a lot of poise for an 18 year old, and fits more of the JD5 mold that Kelly seems to do better with.

He sucked versus Army
When you take QB rating into account, vs same level opponents for esch team's level, Nuss only had 4 games in the same realm of that game he had vs Army. Oh. And Mensah is a redshirt freshman.

I wouldn't mind him but he's not as good as this board makes him out to be. He looked bad against good teams. He does have upside though.

He had a bad game vs Oklahoma and vs ULL, again, as a redshirt freshman.

Tulane's offense is bullshite. What they ask him to do vs what LSU asks of Nuss is not even in the same universe. Nuss is better full stop. Mensah's more athletic and Tulane throws downfield a lot more with PA but your eyes are deceiving you if you think they're on the same level at all.

they play in different offenses. It's a stupid comparison. Nuss is better.

So you want to spend big money on a QB who won’t be any better? Brilliant plan.
Even if Nuss goes pro, Mensah isn’t some slam dunk signing here. We need to see who else enters the portal.

He is calm, processes well and throws and accurate ball but he has a pea shooter for an arm. I'd hope we could find someone better.

Watched or attended almost every game this year as a member of a split Tulane/LSU household. I can tell you this kid is talented. He is extremely accurate and get the balls in his receivers hands in stride giving yards after catch opportunities. Above avg arm strength, but not a bomber. Athletic but not a running QB. I think he is highly comparable to Jordan Love.
His style of play marries well to a good running game, effective in play action, boot and rolls. Anticipates throws well and layers balls into zones with accuracy. His best plays came on intermediate throws over the middle, often off of some form of run action. We would be lucky to get him, but he looking to cash in and start. He is also going pro after 2025 with a good season, so he's either a one year rental or a disappointment.

Mensah is the best qb prospect in the portal and has more potential than Nuss. Nuss had a few good games and a few bad games. He’s not a slam dunk either lol
