The fact he went to like, 5 home games last year and has been LSU's campus several times after that? The fact in all the pay site articles hes been pretty overwhelmingly positive towards LSU and the home state school? The fact his family is LSU fans, including his mother who passed?
Does he have interest in Auburn? Sure. But anyone who has followed his recruitment would think LSU is definitely in the driver's seat. Low chance he goes to Auburn, high chance he goes to LSU at this point. No chance for Auburn? Not at all but its highly unlikely at this point. Anything can happen here to signing day. If he was to sign tomorrow, he'd be a LSU Tiger.

I can see it already. This guy is going to be the next SFP with respect to post count IMO.
No bannage potential in his future at all.

BTW, LSU fans using the logic, Reed shouldnt go to Au cause it's far away is basically saying Lache shouldnt come to LSU since Texas is much closer than BR
Lol, no shite Sherlock. Welcome to the World of recruiting OOS 4-5 star players. Let me break it down further for you. In-state players don't necessaily stay in-state "cause" it's closer. IF all other significant factors are relatively equal, recruits don't tend to move a long way away from their family to play football when there is another school with similar or equal factors that is much closer. It's logic. You see how that works now?
So, if it comes down to a toss-up for a Texas recruit between UT, LSU and AU, there is a very strong chance that the recruit will sign with the closer school if it is significantly closer, which means AU is shite out of luck and sucking hind tit, generally speaking of course.
You can run a logic check on this analysis by comparing the number of Texas players on AU's squad versus the number on LSU's squad. However, from your posts, I suspect the results might stagger and stun you.

I'm sure Russell Shepard went to plenty of UT games while in HS. I know it's a little different and there were other variables involved there...just sayin.

Paysites have been wrong on several occasions. While it might be statistically significant, it's not infallible, and is thus not very solid IMO.
Kenny Bell & Janzen Jackson each only had ONE local paysite (Bama & Tenn, respectively) around NSD saying that they might go anywhere besides LSU.
I tend to rely on paysites more than on rantards, but it's certainly not take-it-to-the-bank-able.

I don't know (and I'm not presuming to know what the poor kid's going through), but I just think that if his mother's fanhood was going to play a big part in his decision, he would already be committed to LSU. I mean, if you know that's a significant factor, how could you conceivably go elsewhere.
But again, I've never been in that position, so I won't presume to know what he's going through. I'll concede this point to you.

Sure. I "think" LSU is in the driver's seat too, but I haven't seen anything but speculation and biased interpretations of small hints to suggest that. I was just fishing for something more concrete.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was much closer to 50:50 than many would like to believe. I personally have it at about 65:35 for LSU.

Meh...I wouldn't call 35% "highly unlikely", but that's just a matter of perception on my part.

Yes.

I am 65% sure that this is a true statement.
Again, I don't disagree...I just don't see anything but speculation

Yup. Major recruits have a overwhelmingly high % of staying instate. In most decisions, its one of the #1 factors. Someone had a write up on this somewhere and had a breakdown of the last 8 years and where major recruits went...
Needless to say, the home schools had a huge %.

Exactly, now using your own logic, why would Lache consider coming all the way to BR when he can go an hour up the street and go to UT.
LSU fans are using this logic when it comes to Reed. "Why would reed go allll the way to Auburn when he can play an hour away at BR"
Well if that's the case, what about Lache?
Posted on 8/3/09 at 4:55 pm to CFBFAN1121
Partly because Texas has not been recruiting Lache nearly as hard as LSU and Auburn are recruiting both Lache and Trovon Reed.
Posted on 8/3/09 at 4:56 pm to CFBFAN1121
I don't know, might have something to do with UT's coaching staff? Did you ever think of that? Maybe he doesn't like them or maybe UT slowed on his recruiting? We all known MB does this quite often and gets lazy recruiting the big fish.

Jumping jackasses, are you high? I'm not trying to dazzle you with the riddle of the Sphinx: "why would Lache consider coming all the way to BR when he can go an hour up the street ands go to UT?"
Answer: If he views LSU and UT about the same, he freaking wouldn't. If Lache likes UT and LSU about the same (and assuming he and his family view the travel to BR to be significantly harder than traveling to UT), LSU is shite out of luck. You savvy that?
Is this damn thing on?

u guys are missing my point, i'm sure there's a valid reason why lache isnt considering UT. The point im making is that just b/c you're closer to school A doesnt mean you're a lock for that school.
Trovon himself said that he doesnt talk to LSU's coaching staff that much, said he only talks to them when he goes to LSU.
Knowing that, it wouldn't surprise me at all that Reed has a better relationship with AU coaches than LSU coaches.
