Trovon Reed = Early Doucet

If Trovon Reed signs with LSU and does like the past receivers, he will end up in the same situation as Early Doucet. Both 6' tall, high school qb's, great hands. I hope Frank gets him. Who knows we get him, we may get Seastrunk.

Early was a lot better coming out of high school IMO

You mean 205lb straight out of high school Doucet. No way are they comparable as Doucet was superior in every aspect, strength, speed, height, vertical. Only similarities that 170lb reed has with Doucet is they both were WR playing QB. I would compare Reed with John Williams or Kenny Bell before Doucet. Dumb post in my opinion.

I've don't see Trovon being nearly as good as Early at WR

Is Reed a HS QB?
Doucet was one of the best HS players in LA history, IMO. He was unreal.

Reed and Kenny Bell is a pretty good comparison IMO.

actually Reed and Doucet are alot more comparable than Reed and K. bell in terms of style. Reed's game is vision, quickness and change of direction, and he can go up and get it when playing WR. Not saying Reed is as good as Doucet, who was way more physically developed and just overall a better player out of HS, but they have similar styles on the field. Kenny Bell is just a toothpick with some nice speed.
and John Williams isn't that fast, don't know where that came from.

Doucet was a physical beast. Reed is a bit of a stick figure; much leaner than Doucet. Doucet's arms are about as big around as Reed's waist. Reed does have more speed than Doucet though. Both have great ball skills, field vision, hands, quickness, and elusiveness.

Yea, thats not a good comparison..In my 15 years of coaching and talking to other coaches throughout the state since 95.. Early is a top 5 skilled player in the last 15 years. He made the game slow down. Reed, is good but not as electrifying as this board makes him seem...

I met Doucet several times around school when he was at LSU. The guy was all muscle with almost no fat at all. He was one of the most cut up football players I had ever seem at LSU.
I have never seen Reed outside of a couple of pictures, but I can't see how they are comparable.

They are college WR's who played QB for La Schools. I think the comparison ends there. I saw Early at a basketball game when he was in high school and he was ripped up with muscles then. Reed is way smaller.
Early >> Reed IMO/IMHO

Dumb question, as I really don't watch that much NFL football, much less, the AZ Cardinals... but why hasnt' Doucet excelled more in the NFL?

To many high quality players in front of him. I did see one nice catch over the middle he had last night in the AZ/SF game.
