Bralon Addison might be switching to A&M too.
Williams mentions him in this article about his and Davis' commitment: CBSSports/Maxpreps
quote:
"We had played each other in Little League," Williams said. "I played against (current Oklahoma State commit) Bralon Addison in football and basketball and Matt in basketball. It seemed like that we were always competing against each other."

That means that LSU shut Gray down in the second half. 32 yards in the second half.
Teams that are behind in a ball game typically tend to throw the ball.

That's a very poor argument from someone telling another poster to "do his homework". Considering A&M was behind in the 2nd half and was throwing far more than LSU, it's not surprising LSU "held" gray to 100 yards rushing. In actuality it was the situation of the game that held A&M's rushing game.. not LSU's defense.
In comparison, A&M marginally out gained LSU per carry at 5.3 to 5.2 yards, so that argument is a little light on facts.
The truth is that A&M's offensive line outside of the "LSU castoff" Allen was made up of a lot of a FR and SO. One of whom was a freshman all american, two of whom were big XII freshmen team members, one current and one future are sons of NFL hall of famer Bruce Matthews and most of whom were rivals top 250 guys.
I definitely agree that it's very premature to consider the A&M offensive line "the best O-line in the country now." Having said that, they definitely have a high ceiling for the next few years. The talent level and NFL OL coaching experience currently in College Station could result in an elite level OL in a year or two when Williams and Davis would be on campus.

Another voice of reason. Thank you for that. And of course it was posted on TexAgs, they have nothing better to do over there then try to make themselves feel better
What happened to that bet you were offering up? You have some serious hatred for A&M.. Did your girlfriend leave you for an Ag or something?

Dude...anyone who tries to make a case that A&M as good as LSU in any facet of that game is making a fool of himself. Regardless of whether LSU shut Gray down or not, LSU shut A&M down. And to say that A&M's OL is one of the best in the country is projecting the future, because they weren't last year. You were starting a guy who couldn't even crack the two-deep at LSU. You gotta prove it on the field first, and against elite competition (read: not Big XII)

"Dude".. anyone who says "dude" at the beginning of a crappy argument full of opinion and little fact is the one who is making a fool of himself.
Because one player on A&M's starting offensive line was a transfer who did not see the field during his RS year or RS-FR year at LSU is pretty shitty argument that LSU is better than A&M at "every facet of the game."

I went to A&M, graduated from A&M, and my wife went to A&M. I just can't stand the kool-aid drinkers from there that they finally make a decent bowl game, and think they are bouncing back or that their school is squeaky clean when it comes to recruiting.
There's a difference between being a smart, knowledgeable fan and what I mentioned above

Technicality. The trophy is so overcome by rust and rot that it's hardly legible now.

Just don't drown in your tears when we beat you for the 4th year in a row this year. At least you will be able to go post on texags about how your academics are still better than ours after the game.

Gray got the same number of carries in each half, actually.
He averaged 6.8 ypc in the first half, and only 3.2 ypc in the second.
So there goes that theory, eh?

Don't bring facts into this argument

Gerry, if you had "done your homework" and actually looked at the box score for the Cotton Bowl, you might have realized that Gray got 10 carries in the first half, and 10 carries in the second.
LSU adjusted and shut Gray down in the second. The numbers don't lie.

Wow so you're a graduate from A&M who hates A&M? No wonder every post you make on an A&M thread is full of hatred. A&M has repeatedly been identified as a "sleeping giant" by more than just the A&M fan base.. While every school has their idiotic fans (do we need to link to the frickin' rant?), there are reasons to be excited as an A&M fan that haven't been there in about a decade.
Also, there is little to no evidence of foul play in A&M recruiting and to claim otherwise is fact-less and only goes to show your bias towards hating A&M.
You have shown nothing on any thread I've read where you post your nonsensical drivel regarding A&M to show that you are knowledgable nor smart.
So.. how about that bet?

I think there is a very high correlation between A&M landing Houston recruits and Texas and/or LSU sucking.
So long as they keep landing guys like Williams and Davis, their future will be bright.
FTR, Texas dominated the Houston area in the class of 2011. A&M still has a lot of work to do in that department. They have got to shore up their home area first.

This is very true. I've said for a while that if A&M won the recruiting battles with OSU, they'd be loaded... There is a lot of talent and A&M has been virtually pathetic at acquiring and keeping that talent on Kyle Field over the past decade. Fran was horrible at recruiting OL and DL while other teams in the area really built their teams from the trenches. A&M is trying to do the same thing now.

Well they are certainly on the right track.

You want to talk about doing your homework?
-LSU had a better rushing offense overall last year (#27, 187.54 ypg, as opposed to A&M's #46, 165.00 ypg).
-LSU returns 4 starters on the line, all of whom are upperclassmen and have at least two years of experience by this point. We also return two backups who have started or forced into starting roles. That's 6 linemen with starting experience. We only have one hole to fill at LT, and it is between a former blue chip Chris Faulk or the #1 incoming freshman tackle La'el Collins.
-LSU just kicked A&M's arse. Held Gray to 100 yards. 68 of those yards came in the first half. 50 came in the first quarter. That means that LSU shut Gray down in the second half. 32 yards in the second half.
-A&M starting center, Matt Allen, is a former backup at LSU. He never would have seen the field. One of A&M's starting guards, Patrick Lewis, is from Louisiana but wasn't good enough to get a scholarship offer from LSU.
-Figure it out.
served. . .

Gray averaged 4 ypc on 5 carries in the 3rd quarter... off the average, but not really shutting him down. The percentage of plays in the 3rd and 4th quarter did, however, dramatically favor the pass.. there's no denying that. Turnovers were probably the biggest factor in the game.. A&M turned it over too many times and failed to stop the LSU rushing attack after the loss of MLB and defensive captain Hodges in the 2nd quarter.. Also killer were some of the scrambles from Jefferson on 3rd downs to keep drives alive (I think he converted a 3rd and 15 or something on a scramble in the 3rd quarter).
