LSU pay sites were in full meltdown mode last night due to portal rumors. Nothing settled until May 1.

Posters on paysites are notoriously wrong. We have no insiders even on paysites when it comes to posters. People get told all kinds of shite apparently. Doesn’t mean it’s true.

Maybe some of those folks knew something once upon a time, but it’s been a long time since they were right about anything as far as I can remember.

Yet no sour taste when Clemson only offered after they lost their RB commit in the same class. People say all types of things to deflect blame from themselves. It was a bullshite excuse then and still is now. To his credit, his career at Clemson ended up better than he would've done here. And we kicked his arse in 19 so there's that

Yea it’s a weird dynamic, these kids instate feeling so entitled and holding LSU to a completely different standard than they hold other schools to. The Curtis kid is another example. LSU should offer when they’re in 5th grade but everyone else can come in their senior year and that’s ok, they feel wanted.

Seems like some, look at you Curtis, just don’t have the backbone to stand up to local pressure and so they make up shite and blame LSU for “dropping the ball” bc they didn’t offer soon enough instead of just saying they want to experience life in a different part of the country for a few years.

I know we aren’t ever gonna get ‘em all for that for very reason and I can respect the reason. Just be man enough to admit it. No need to blame anyone with inconsistent logic and bullshite excuses.

I think it’s more about the recruits building relationships with other coaches before we offer them . They get to know the other schools better and we get behind

You honestly don't see a difference between the two situations? I find that hard to believe, but this is the rant, so anything is possible.

Take off your P&G glasses for a minute.

LSU - Slow played the kid for years. Took a commitment from CEH and then put all their eggs in the Akers basket. LSU thought if we missed on Akers, they could easily get the kid from Jennings. Also, by all accounts, Jabaar Juluke was a lazy recruiter, so it's probable he never even bothered to build a strong relationship with Etienne during the recruiting process.

Clemson - Had their running back committed and didn't think they needed another one. That running back decommitted so they opened up their search again. Their running back in that class decommitted on 12/23. TE was the only RB they offered after this, so obviously he was their top choice of uncommitted running backs. They also were preparing for the playoffs and a national championship run, so it's probable they weren't doing a ton of recruiting in those 2 weeks. Also, even though they didn't actually offer until after the playoffs, we have no idea what they were communicating to him.

The two situations aren't the same at all.

So he was Clemsons back up plan too?

I mean I get what you’re saying but in both cases he’s the backup option.

Of course as you said it’s the rant and I know some bend over backwards to defend other programs while crapping on all things LSU doesn’t handle perfectly so yea I get it.

It’s ok that Clemson didn’t come calling until their top choice fell through but not ok that LSU did same.

The wildcard as you noted is level of communication between he and the staffs. I’ll grant that we don’t know what that was.

Either way LSU got the kid who wanted to be here and kicked his arse head to head for a natty when the opportunity presented itself and he got to play in the “real Death Valley” so I guess everyone won

I think this is intellectual dishonesty. Clemson had a running back committed since March. They were set for the class and had no reason to be making other offers. LSU was actively trying to add a second running back.

I'm not shitting on LSU. I simply understand why TE had issues with the way LSU recruited him.

The "LSU offered him 2 weeks before Clemson did" argument is a joke, in my opinion, as I've laid out already.

CEO fired Jaluuke and D Craig the day after NSD for this... and the whiff on the DT that went to FSU on a NSD flip.

This is accurate. Jaluuke dropped the ball big time.

It way way worse than that they got caught self dealing aka selling recruits and info to other schools.
