If you have the extra schollie why not
But if he's really serious make him walk on and earn that schollie back.

I doubt he 's serious about coming here. This will eventually come down to a contest between MIT and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

He's actually still very interested in coming back to LSU. If he wasn't, why come and talk to Les at all??? He still has LSU in his heart and wants back in.

It'd be nice to have him on the team, I just don't see it.

Fond memories of beast Chad Lavalais go through my head.

Good comparison. It took Lavalais 3 recruiting cycles before he could make it to LSU due to academic issues. And what a true BEAST he was. My favorite player from the 2003 team.

Why do you think he isn't serious about getting back on the team?

False alarm: he's here to assist on the gravity wave research project.

I trust coach O on this decision...Les is too easy on these matters...and as unfortunate as it is that this kid can't get it together, our new DC surely doesn't want a cancer in the locker room...jmho...and I used to be pulling for this guy...too many strikes in my mind...

Got into an altercation at Arizona Western C.C., part of the reason he's not there anymore.

How intense was the altercation? For me, I just don't have the want to write off a player who's trained by his position to be an animal and try to plow through giant OLinemen day in and day out if he just got into a heated fist fight. If he snuck someone from behind or some other heinous act, my response would be no thanks. Anybody know what went down?

I say give him a shot. You can always kick his arse off the team if it isn't going to work.

Have to like that he wants to be a Tiger again, but if you take Valentine back, you're probably giving up your shot at pulling Marvin Wilson. I'd much rather have Wilson and Shelvin than Valentine and Shelvin.

Might just be me but I don't see that situation being an issue at all with Wilson. You can't have enough DT's, see Bama here. We have to get a two deep rotation at the D line and I don't mean a drop off at the second rotation. We need a stout two deep rotation.

I'll let the coaches make this decision. I don't know any specifics about everything that got him into trouble in Louisiana and Arizona.
