quote:

"I haven't really talked to LSU that much, so I can't really tell you how they're feeling about me," Howard told TigerBait.com. "I talk to Florida a lot, so I know I'm definitely going to get down there."

quote:

Howard said he hadn't talked to an LSU coach since former wide receivers coach Billy Gonzalez accepted the offensive coordinator job at Illinois last week. Gonzalez was the LSU assistant charged with recruiting Howard.

quote:

"If I feel good on one of these visits," Howard said, "I might commit while I'm there."

Wow, we are barely recruiting him.
I guess DB U recruits itself.

Shea Dixon @Sheadixon
Just spoke to 5-star CB Tracy Howard. He will no longer be visiting #LSU this weekend. Will be at Florida instead. No visit to BR set yet.

It must but its still a shock that noone is going after him since Gonzo. Maybe losing Gonzo will be a tougher loss than I orignally thought with the Florida kids.

It could also mean the staff thinks he is not interested.

He wants to go where they need him. Tell him MC position is available.

Still, how hard is it to pick up a phone and call or something?

As coaches you have to know all these kids want it to feel like they are needed somewhere. Why in the world wouldn't we have the DB coach at the least calling this kid.

this is not surprising at all. this is how we lost lc by coaches not getting on these players. this is how we are tied/behind on diarse. our coaches (except wilson) are avg. SEC level recruiters. if the no. 1 cb in nation says you are in his top 2 MILES should be calling him. but no, miles was on the phone last night with c. raymond. this is terrible recruiting.

He's still visiting isn't he? Kid obviously wants to come to LSU, and I think once he visits, he will see how much he is wanted

Put Frank Wilson and Cooper on it ASAP.

Hard to believe we would not even take a shot at the #1 CB in the nation.

I guess the coaches forgot how to recruit.

Miles probably realizes Howard doesn't really have any interest in leaving Florida and he's just trying to draw attention to himself.

"I haven't spoken to anybody," he said. "I talked to Coach Billy when he came by the school, but I'm not sure when that was. My mom talked to them, but I haven't talked to them."

Is he saying that even though he hasnt talked to LSU in a week his mom has?

I'm a novice on the recruiting rules so I apologize of this is a dumb question. Are coaches allowed to call recruits right now? I remember reading a few weeks back something about the "dead" period or some kind of period where coaches could not call the recruits but the recruits could call a coach.

damn this is what i was telling you about the staff not having enough recruits on staff miles needs to hire a recruiter prob porter. I know Monken prob wont come here getting past over for Krags. We desperatley need another recruiter.

Miles needs to address this thats why we aren't getting on recruits til late. Wilson can only be so many places.
