Fong also has him going to Texas. I think lsu decided meadow would be the big OOS WR they went all in on this season. Gotta use the rest of that nil to hopefully get Jonah Williams. We don’t have unlimited funds so I see this as a situation in which we are deciding to put the money elsewhere

He’d be nice to have, but receiver is a luxury, not a need. With the crop of kids we get annually from Louisiana plus any experienced depth we’ll attract in the portal each offseason, we’re more than fine at that position. We’ll likely get 1-2 more through high school or the portal to pair with Underwood. Playing time will be available next season which will be attractive to many.

The last position LSU needs to worry about is WR. Louisiana produces a ton of great WRs.

The way recruiting has gone lately I don't think any of the insiders have legitimate inside information.

They make predictions based on what they’re hearing at the time. Was LSU ever REALLY in contention or is this just another Jonah Williams/Lockett situation?

LSU was really in contention for all of the above.
Locketts price went above what we were gonna pay based on what we have and what we want. Bama was the same situation. Texas out bid themselves.
Ffrench is a guy they're still conversating with. Still a couple of weeks out there. Remember Pickett 2 weeks out? We were afterthoughts until the bidding truly began.
Williams is a wild card. I think he misleads/tells everyone yes. He's leaned towards about 6 schools over the cycle. Info differs dramatically from side to side to side. Who knows what's true. Team to team can't even decide if he's a MLB draft threat or not. Tons of misinformation/opinion rather than fact out there with him. I wouldn't sweat it until closer to signing day. As with everyone else.
