Yes. Yes you do play us in 2019. Herman might not even be the head coach then.

Yesterday was really eye-opening for me in regards to UT and Herman.

I was on 24/7 and went to the UT board to see how happy the fans were about having to #2 class in the nation. That's when I saw the Traore thread. I was surprised by the quote in the OP saying Herman had painted himself into a corner.

So I went to Shaggytexas.com and was very surprised by what is going on. Someone on one of the two boards had posted a thread asking if there was any way Texas would even be as good next year as this one. He must have been pretty upset because just four minutes later he posted "WELL, I'm waiting". The consensus was a DEFINITE "NO".

You guys are losing your best OL to the draft and the ones who aren't declaring are transferring. Looks like it will be a huge problem position for UT.

I had also wondered if Herman was still kissing his players since going to UT. In the "fire Tom Herman" thread it was mentioned quite frequently. I call him the Kissing-bandit but saw a better name given by a UT fan - "Hotlips". I wish I had thought of that one.

I had assumed with a top ranked recruiting class everything was just hunky-dory with UT fans. That is not the case at all and for very good reason.

You have a good point but it's not like a Negahorn / Posihorn over there. It's just people bummed by what is going on. They are even talking about how Strong had six wins in his first year as coach. It's like they miss Strong already even though EVERYBODY over there wanted him gone at the time.

Look at this thread as an example.
God dammit, I'm getting $#@!ing sick of seeing us lose on senior day
There were 29 replies and only one that was positive. Another seemed that way but he clarified his position a few posts later.

The one positive post out of 29:
"That was a pretty miserable performance. But hey without Sam's weird Favre moment we probably pull it out. We might be getting close here. We will see what happens in the Bowl Game and the off season."

We surely have witnessed top 10 classes that really aren't top 10 on the field. Got to have the BIG BOYS if you want to play big boy football.
But, Herman is recruiting for the Big 12, not the SEC.

Well the issue is always inflated expectations. Herman was the "savior" of Austin. He walked in the door and suddenly Texas starts out pre-season 23 in the AP/Coaches polls.

It's all fan bases. The further removed you are from a program the more rational you can be.

He is losing ALL of his good O-line this year and has nothing coming in. Even the B12 needs O-line.

Here is a quote in the shaggytexas thread I just posted a link to. The thread is about losing on Senior Day.

Herman painted himself into this corner by PASSING ON LSU,
Joe Alleva PASSED on Tom Herman when TH started talking with Texas after Strong got fired.

Alleva made no effort to negotiate or sell LSU to Herman. Just gave up and ran away with his tail tucked between his legs and didn't even bother interviewing anybody else. He sold LSU out without making a legitimate effort to hire the best HC available...............

On Thursday, LSU head coach Ed Orgeron will visit Traore at his school and then will go to Boston that evening to meet with Traore's parents.

Auburn is another school that's been discussed as being in the mix, but Traore told me tonight it's pretty much a Texas-LSU battle. As for who is leading, he wouldn't tip his hand and told me he's genuinely torn between the two. He doesn't have a set date on when he'd like to announce, but said it will be sometime before December 20, when he'll be able to sign

Expect him to be at LSU

His expression is one of someone who just received an unwanted KISS.

Just what I was thinking.

"Show me on the doll where Herman touched you."

LOL, I wanted to comment on his expression myself but didn't want to risk a ban for making fun of a recruit. Not with first signing day coming up.

Oh what the hell...
He looks like: "what 'da hell, did this dude just try that and does he think he's 'bout to give me the shocker?"

No need to knock Herman for choosing his dream spot. Idk if it was a smarter choice but he was a grad asst there and it was well known he always wanted to be the HC there.

Traore is thinking "frick, first this weirdo tried to kiss me and now he's got his hand on my butt while we're doing this lame arse picture. Can I just get the hell out of here and away from this dude?"

I thought the goatee made him look like a man. But yeah, Traore looks like I'll do this hook'em shite to please him already.

Tough one to call right now and with Orgeron getting the last visit, that might help LSU's chances, but Traore knows that he'll have a chance to start right away if he chooses Texas.

How sweet of Tommy to put his hair plugs in before visiting Traore.
