I agree but the previous staff let divas like palmer and ricks run the assylum. Once others saw this they followed suit and "acted a fool" Just goes to show how strong of a leader Joe Burrow was, he was able to do what the entire coaching staff couldnt for the last two years.

our 5 stars have shite the bed the last few years. the 3 and
4 star kids with high character and the want to be here are the ones who have excelled. Ricks, Stingley have been a joke. flott and mcglothern have excelled cause they want to be here, are coachable, and exhibit a team first attitude.
All well and good but you'll be among the first to bitch that our schemes work but the players are not good enough - see CincinDomers - to beat Bama/Georgia.

build the right culture that indoctrinates everyone else to buy in, then you can fill in the rest with the kinds of players we have recruited the last 20 years and have a talented roster that can play with anyone AND that is bought into a process-oriented, development-based mindset. Once you build that, you can bring in a few guys who don’t have the right priorities day one and most of them will conform once in the program. That’s what they do at Bama and Clemson (in different ways) and it WORKS.
Well put, My Man.

Im not like you dilusionites on here that think that anything short of winning every game by 30+ and a natty every year is unacceptable just cause Bama does it. Saban is a once in a millenium coach and he cant even do that. Im tired of seeing 4 and 5 star divas shite on the program. Good players with good character and good work habits win more often that good players with bad character and bad work habit.

I would go as far as to say we will never see another Nick Saban. The rules and the kids are changing too much. Hysteria and delusion is the norm for the fans, no one has the patience to let a coach build a program. Nick built his programs before a soft kid could run to the portal if Nick was mean.

Don’t be mad bro, I thought that comment was funny. Appreciate the true care and concern. I almost regret that l agree with you on focusing on character. Happy New year, hope you and your family are well.

Now why would you want to insult someone you don't even know? I'm far from delusional about the prospects of any team/player in any sport.
But way to lash out and condemn an entire group of posters that don't live up to your standards because you don't like my response.
And at least learn to spell any insults correctly.
What a pussy.

There are many more three star players than five star players. You do know this right?

We’ve always had to pay players. Just like everyone else.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't really work well in today's cfb especially the SEC

If this were true, then Cinci could have given Bama a game in the playoffs. But it’s not true, at least not when it comes to winning championships. GREAT players with character and work ethic win titles. Teams of 3 and low 4 stars get to say they got to the dance and got smashed.

As for your comment about delusional fans expecting the titles every season, no reasonable person here does. But that doesn’t mean you set the bar so low knowing you’ll win none. A school with the budget and track record of LSU should make an SEC Title game and have a playoff shot once every 4 years. That’s once per class. That is a realistic and attainable goal if the program is managed and coached properly.

Wait so you refer to the players as inmates??? This statement alone shows and says a lot about you. Players family and players read this page often. Sometimes you guys as fans embarrass me. By the way Stingley is a high character kid, only issue is the kid stayed hurt!!

Nope.

Pay them.

And them get them to buy in into what you're doing once you get them on campus.

I think the lack of a good coaching staff had little to do with the record also.

You cannot be right.
Character is inversely proportional to talent/stars.
Five star athletes are scientifically incapable of being high character, smart, good work ethic individuals.
The Rant and this thread have taught us this law of nature.
Oh, and if you are a young athlete who is offered money, or ask, because it has become customary in current recruiting, you are a “thug”. In a few years, if you fail to respond in the same way, you will be financially irresponsible.

You can find both. I think Dabo has done a good job of that.

But yes I’d rather a very good 4* with high character than a 5* locker room cancer. All day.
