Agreed. Watts even said that Bama and Florida had "made up ground." Gotta have someone ahead to make up ground on. Just my .02.
Yes. Honestly it sounds like what LSU has done for some top recruits over the years.
“LSU made up some ground on Shazz Preston. We’ll see!”

A source close to Ricks said that Alabama did a great job on the visit and the Tide made up some serious ground.
We’ll see if he’s Patrick Surtain or Patrick Peterson. Groupie versus a leader.

With the NIL, is there a Bently dealership in Baton Rouge that needs a spokeperson?

Well for his development, LSU is the best option. Florida is just lost on defense and is a clusterfrick on that side of things. A major question mark going forward as well, though I think they’ll get things going, somewhat. Alabama wasted away wildly talented kids in that secondary, Ricks and Arnold looked lost at times. Steeples is developing these gentlemen proper. I still anticipate Ricks is LSU, with a battle for Alabama.

Statistically most players won’t play for LSU.
So this will absolutely hold true.

Exactly - if recent visits are given that much credit then we are in great shape with the last one - small minded instant news mentality imo but whatever - that logic works in our favor too

No mention of a pick by him
Yeah. I was about to check this. As always with recruiting scribes, watch their picks more than their words. Their words are intended to both inform and create drama, but their pick percentage is important to them, so they're not going to mess around changing thier picks just to create false drama.

Bama is always able to get into a race, but having the last visit with a West title and win over Bama this season in hand helps bridge any credibility gaps we’ve had in the past. That’s .500 ball vs Bama over the last 4 years. Recent staffs didn’t have that plus a huge opportunity for early playing time to sell in a head to head. Match NIL with them and I think we will win this thing.

He's likely going to Bama

I have a totally different interpretation. When a Bama homer writes something like that then they definitely don't lead and they know it.

I disagree actually.
We have the last visit. We have the godfather offer. If this staff wants him, they will get him. Just like Perkins

Did he whisper that in your ear or are you just spewing?

That win over Bama was such a GAME CHANGER. I feel good about our chance of landing him
Posted on 12/14/22 at 10:23 am to Captain Crown
Exactly- if he put a pick in, it would be over.

As long as we can match NIL with Bama I think we have the advantage. He's a guaranteed day 1 starter with our CB situation and Steeples is a dynamic young coach that I expect kids would relate to.
That being said, Saban has an ability to swoop in the last minute and steal cruits.

If a source said it's 50/50 between Bama and Florida, it's not very reliable

My daughter has visited LSU, ole Miss, USCe and Alabama...
After the Alabama trip I can tell you that they've got their act together over there... They are very kind, well organized and very intentional about making you feel important while on their campus...the campus has a lot uodates...hate to say it but its impressive...
Side note: Fraternity row is mansion after mansion... lordy they laid down the cash to build those...
900 a month in dues...
Dorms close to Bryant stadium are super nice...
Ole miss dorms felt like prison cells...but a nice campus...smaller among other SEC school campus and enrollment..
