something more should be said for the pressure put on these young kids by coaches to committ

That's a great point too. I wonder how an early signing period would affect the whole deal?

well then we can be like Texas (without the #s in TX) and only recruit "LSU guys"

I'm not saying we shouldn't recruit these guys, we've got to, I'm just saying that it is unusual for high profile recruits these days to commit early and stick to it without craving the signing day theatrics.

I don't put myself in that situation. And if I did, I'd be man enough to answer my phone.

ts pretty ridiculous how they'll slam JJ for making a decision he feels is best that effects the rest of his life, BUT then search and search to defend LSU or its coach when in a similar situation

sadly you cannot see the difference. lsu stuck with db for over 2 yrs, still not qualified, and was going to stay with him a 3rd year, that is until one of these other poor kids decided to whine and say the sandbox was not big enough for both, which put the coach in a tight spot, and he made the same call most of us would have. as far as jj, no problem, chose to go where you want, but peveto left a long time ago, why wait so long to decide what is best for you, to screw over the school, the state flagship school, the school that lots of employers in this state really like.

there is a difference

"real men" follow through with their commitments

doesnt just apply to recruiting either

Would you have said the same thing yesterday if Trent Richardson would have de-committed from Bama to come here?

What irritates me is if someone de-commits from somewhere else to come to LSU, he is cool and a good guy, but if de-commits from us to go somewhere else you tear into him and become complete arse holes.

I can understand you being upset, but personal attacks on the kid are not warranted.

yes i would have. would have been glad to have him in our backfield, but would have held the same view of him as any other kid that does what jj did.

one slight exception, would be if tr would have decided to go to the gators, his home state school.

jj on the other hand decided to screw over his home state school.
