One would think that Les would've had a more hands-on approach to QB recruiting considering it almost did him in. Les has basically entrusted his job to Cam Cameron, so we shall see how things pan out for him.

We need to get qb's from junior and community colleges. It's our only chance.

But no matter who we have, the plays won't change, the execution will not get better and the results will be the same. I am completely pessimistic about the future.
It is so brutal that I don't even enjoy them winning, and that just effing sucks.

Until a QB puts up a 3500 yard and or a 20 TD season, this will be what it is.

They've told Narcisse they're revamping the offense once Fournette leaves.

Miles better be willing to prove that to the fans because not many will take his word for it. Again.

didn't a couple pro style qb's leave because the coaches wanted to go a different direction ?

I don't think as long as Les runs the shitty offense he runs we will ever get a top QB.

Rettig never took a snap from under center in college. Cam says he couldn't read defenses.

Cam loved Jennings. The rest of the offensive coaches didn't think he had the arm.
Cam now loves Harris.

Some former offensive coaches didn't love Cam.

His evaluation of the position is shitty, IMO.

Oh, and Cameron is a God awful recruiter.

I can't believe we pay Cam 1.5 million for nothing... not a gosh damn thing. We get zero for 1.5 million bucks.

does not matter what kind of defense we will have this year, we still will not have an offense that will win the critical games (even if we do have a Heisman winner)so Miles will go away and Cam with him. Then we can get a coach that can put an offense to go with our defense. Besides, we are loosing a bunch of guys to the NFL next year, which will not help. Love Miles as a person but he will not field more that an I formation team no matter what.

Les' (now Les and Cam) inability to recruit a QB that fits their system is maddening, bordering on hilarity. It just baffles me that we continue to try and recruit DT QBs and make them I-formation QBs. We get a Harris, who granted is no Mike Vick, but is a threat to run. Yet, just now we are hearing that Miles and Cam are going to study some read option offenses this offseason? How about being more creative with play calls and less predictable with personnel packages?

WTF? Didn't Cam coach Randle-El? Les and Cam running the offense is just sad to watch. And we wonder why we can't get a QB.

Mett's senior year was great, but if you remember his junior year, it was the same stupid single pattern WR routes with 1 read. Maddening.

Actually, most prospects don't change that much in college. Their instincts and skill set will either translate to your system or not. You have to find the right bones to fit your system. Coaching can tweak that skill set to your given offense, but it will not ultimately change the way a kid reacts.

I love how people just forget about Harris coming out of high school simply because he is from LA. He was an elite recruit.

Rettig was #153 recruit in the country out of CA. Jennings was #215 out of GA.

Harris was #75 in the country.

In 2012 you had the #1 pro-style QB in the country in Kiel and he bailed.

QB recruiting is not the problem - evaluation and/or development have been the major issues.

I see that. But you offer his brother a spot on the staff and it guarantees you get Shea. You have leverage in that position. Shea doesn't come, you fire brother. Brother wants Shea to keep his job, becuase they're brothers, and because he is good. That is what Ole Miss saw. It is a rare chance at a guaranteed, 5 star lock for a minimal cost. It doesn't come along often that you can skirt the NCAA rules for the 2 or 3rd best qb in a recruiting class by just giving a brother an on field job. Plus, if brother is on staff, Shea is easily watched and monitored. Brother would have unlimited communication with him. It's just the smart decision for a school like LSU that needs a qb in the worst way. Schools like alabama and OSU can laugh at the family because they don't need him that bad. LSU needed a qb in this class and Shea was very low risk/reward. Cameron got played by a young man with the old 'we're a military family' and 'i'm the closest thing to a lock' card.

Man..... You have all the answers. We're all highly impressed by your in depth analysis and always spot on observations. You're the number one reason any of us come to this board. Without you, there'd be no Tigerdroppings. We're always thankful to see you post. Life has no meaning without you here. It's such a blessing that you still grace this board in 2016 with your busy day trader lifestyle. Don't ever leave. The only way you could top it for the fans would be to apply for Frank's vacant position. Go for it. It's all yours for the taking once you tell them you're Duckie from the message board. Trust us.

And your post added nothing but sarcasm. Oh so witty, NOT. Post something useful. And no, I have no connection with the dude you chastised nor do I share his sentiment. Point is, stop being an attention whore and post something with some intelligence.

Curley, dinardo, and Saban all recruited and developed good to great QB's. This stuff is just excuses for miles. The proof is what he inherited. When he got to LSU he he Jamarcus, Flynn, and clauson. The QB roster has been nowhere near that since 2005.

Look at what was in roster when Dinardo was employed. Nall, Davey, and Booty were all nfl players. It can and has been done. Just not under miles.

Two of the three you mentioned are from Louisiana, which goes back to my original post.

For whatever reason, LSU has struggled historically in national appeal to QBs.
