We are currently .005 points ahead of Ohio St for the class with 3 five stars and 8 four stars

They have 3 five starts 4 four stars and 1 three stars

It's a point system. Their 4 stars having a higher rating than ours.

No shite. It’s still confusing. Explain the algorithm if you think it makes sense for a class with 11 combined 4 and 5 stars to be ranked basically the same as a class with 7 combined 4 and 5 stars. I’d argue that their algorithm needs adjustment if having marginally higher rated 4 stars outweighs having 3 additional 4 stars overall

Because they don’t do their rankings based on total commits, they go by average commits in the class (I’m assuming it’s 7 or 8 right now) and that’s the only players counted in their ranking. It makes a ton of sense when you see that 24/7 has ND as the number 1 class rn just because they have a ton of commits. It makes it so that classes are more consistent throughout the process instead of favoring teams that take a shite ton of kids early

OSU’s average will move down the more commits they get unless they continue to get Top 100 players

on3 is only using the top 4 recruits in each class to rank the teams. Go to the on3 only team rankings and the gap is wider - LSU is at 97.0000 and OSU is at 95.750

I don’t understand why they just don’t bow up and use their rankings, be proud of your own FTR

Because they control for class size, to prevent mediocre classes with lots of commits ahead of schedule from being ranked #1 overall even though there’s no chance they’ll possibly be a top class when all is said and done.

They have their own rankings, not sure what you're getting at here.

Both 247 and on3 have their own rankings and an industry composite of 247/on3/rivals/ESPN. The industry/composite rankings are different on each site because I believe 247 values all 4 sites evenly where as on3 devalues ESPN rankings a lot as well as Rivals a bit compared to on3/247 as most people recognize on3/247 as the leaders in the recruiting industry at this point.

4-stars range from 90-97

If you have 8 4-stars that average a 92 and they have 4 4-stars that average a 96 and a 3-star that’s a 89, that’s how it can happen.

I haven’t looked at the numbers for each though

Look at the average ratings for each team.
LSU is 92.86 while Ohio State is 94.09. Means their overall players have a high average ranking, especially the 4 stars.

But half their class is 5-stars right now, they probably dont keep that pace up.

You are viewing the "Industry" team rankings which is a composite rankings using compiled data from On3, Rivals, ESPN and 247, when viewing the "On3 Only" team rankings (see link below) you will see only the rankings for On3 and not the composite of all the recruiting services.

On3 team rankings (not industry rankings)

go to the industry Team Rankings page on On3 in the navigation bar remove "industry-" leaving on the word team, hit enter and viola you are on On3's Team Ranking Page.
