It's a message board, dude. People are using hyperbole. Let's not blow this out of proportion because people are pissed.
It doesn't make the fanbase look terrible. No one is going to remember or judge the fanbase off of this other than that they expect top flight LA kids to stay home.
Most people don't even read message boards believe it or not.

Yep. Could you imagine if the #1 player in Alabama committed to LSU? But it's nothing to get all bent out of shape about. There's other kids that actually want to play for LSU.

You know, I remember a similar reaction here towards Jai Eugene.
Also a lot of these same fans were probably cursing Miles when Zack Lee chose to take the money.
Life will go on though. Things will be ok. LC's decision isn't going to suddenly throw LSU into a downward spiral.

I don't think much of the anger at LC is over choosing a school outside of LSU (though some is). A lot is the apparent games he played (i.e., insiders from both schools seemed certain that he was coming their way in the last 48 or so hours, meaning either 1. he lied to one of the schools in question or 2. one of the schools were acting out of the ordinary by being 'certain' about a player who did not actually commit).
Plenty of top tier La. talent has left the state over the last decade without meltdowns...but the Joe McKnight/Janzen Jackson/ and now L. Collins meltdowns occur when the recruit seems to have made up their minds long ago to go out of state but string LSU along for shits and giggles. Naturally, that's going to piss people off. And if LC did that (and it appears he did), his Mama should be more concerned about THAT than about where her son will actually play.

If you think the comments here are going to turn him away, wait until he gets back to Louisiana and starts back school...people are crazy,it's only going to get worst, no matter what people post here

I really hope this was a brilliant ploy by collins, burning bama on signing day and throwin salt on the still open BCS national championships wounds.
If it really is over some slut, and does end up @ bama, i hope this kid gets injured early on in his career and is resorted to helping nicky call defensive schemes from the sideline.
