Well, you really should. I basically said the same thing that you said a few comments down.

I am not saying that Alabama doesn't have great coaches, that Saban isn't the GOAT or that they don't develop their players well. Of course they do. I am simply saying that when you are talking about top talent, they can go to the pros from anywhere, as you proved with your comment about Troy and Demarcus Ware.

Saban just takes the approach that because of what HE does, that he can get guys to the League. I am saying that he is selling a line, but he gets top recruits to believe it and it becomes self-fulfilling.

The truth is that Saban recruited OLine pretty poorly toward the end of his tenure at LSU. He also left LSU late in the recruiting season when he went to Miami and that class basically fell apart. The next year, the LSU class on the OLine was a bust (2006 - we took 5 guys and they didn't pan out). Now, you are up to 2007 with poor OLine recruiting the previous 3 years. Things have gotten better, but it has been slow.

Truthfully, LSU has done a lot with 3 start type talent on the OLine and we converted a bunch of DLinemen to the OLine over the years. . It is only lately that we are getting 5 star type talent and they are changing the situation.

I agree that Alabama has put more OLinemen in the first round. But, to say that a talent like C-Rob can is more likely to be a top 5 draft choice from Alabama than he is from LSU is just a recruiting pitch. It isn't true.
