I happen to live in deep South Texas and have kept up with all the Big 12 BS along with the SEC.. UT"Texas" has had a top 5 recruiting class for last 7-8 yrs and how many championships have they won...and there #1 recruit QB Gilbert is what now at SMU cuz he didn't live up to his rating coming out of high school! If LSU gets the majority of the 3-4 star recruits out of LA every year they will be a force every year for the SEC title and BCS bowl bids! We used to lose them to Michagen-Notre Dame-USC now we need to not lose them to ALABAMA and we will be just fine!

It is not like LSU's coaches have just stumbled upon players that no other coaches have heard of. LSU coaches make careful evaluations of the players they offer scholarships. Those offers are made with an idea of how the player might fit a need on the footbasll team. LSU passes on more players than it offers, and the majority of those it passes on are not highly rated by the for profit rating services.
