St. Aug. suffers from abysmal coaching and that's the only reason they don't win state championships especially in football. For basketball and football, I can't think of a high school in Louisiana that turns out more Division I talent.

Kerry Kittles, Hollis Price, Eugene Edgerson, Rahim Aleem, Akeem Jolla, Oliver Celestin, James Hall, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Cortez Hankton, and Carl Weathers (Apollo Creed and played in the NFL) among many others are all St. Aug. alums.

They put out some good players but they play in a really tough district and never do really well in the playoffs

Let's see, between '01 - '09 we went through 3 principals, 3 head coaches, and a big enrollment drop even before Katrina... Coach DJ will take us back to the promise land though.

I'm not saying anything against the talent at St. Aug. I am saying they always have the talent and can't put it together (mainly bc of previous coaching) I am excited to see St. Aug coming back strong and competing like they did in the 90s. St. Aug will compete big time this coming season especially if they can get that defense together.

Carl Weathers didn't gradute from St. Aug. Left before he graduated. But thats a pretty sweet list.

Frank is from nola, and was a high school coach in nola. He is well respected in that area, and as of rt now he coaches for the well respected in state school. Not saying he wouldnt come to LSU if Frank didnt coach here. I think it just gives us an extra edge against every one else.

Yea i heard his brother is a beast and the same person who told me that also said Leonard Fournette would be the lb in the state if they let him play that side.

From what I heard, multiple positions: LB, DB, Special Teams... Rummel had photos of their 8th grade game vs AUG on their website and you could see pics of him in action... Believe he had the same number as his brother, #5...

Hey Noplacelikehome, I didn't take offense to your comments, just was giving a little history lesson...

They had some studs when we played against them in the early 2000s but the lack of coaching made them only a decent team.

Thanks. You know I forgot all about Leroy Hoard. Another St. Aug. alum who was a helluva player at Michigan and had a good NFL career too.

Now...I don't know. During the season they were saying his measurements were 5-11/6ft and 210-220 with 4.5 speed. I wonder will he outgrow the RB position.

No... Leonard is not the biggest RB we've had.. I graduated with one of the best backs in Aug's history: Sean Rhodes(He started as a SO, had to sit out his FR year) and he was a more powerful & experienced runner/blocker as a starter... If it wasn't for a fractured ankle he injured against John Curtis, which sidelined him his entire JR season, and it never healed correctly, pretty much ending his collegiate career... He definitely would have been playing RB for somebody on Sunday...

Not saying he is Marcus Dupree good, but wow that kid at this point is a beast. Hopefully he can keep it going and progress and yes that is the best FRESHMAN video i have ever seen. Let the insane he wore to school an Alabama, FSU, MIAMI,....... T-shirt drama begin.

That's being generous. I've seen him many times w/o his gear own while at St. Aug Bball games and he doesn't even look to be that big. Maybe 195-200 at most.
