Anyone from Brother Martin High School care to comment on this situation. How was he there? What was the situation?

No offense, but if there's somebody's sources on here i don't trust its yours.

With all your Dixon talk you missed on your credibility is down the drain.

Whoever Scott's source was for the Dixon stuff, it was a source that Jim Kleinpeter of the Times-Picayune also believed, because he printed the same stuff. It obviously wasn't a bogus source, just a source that turned out to be wrong. For all that we know, Dixon could have been scheduled to meet with Alleva in Atlanta and decided at the last minute not to get on the plane.

Somebody at LSU spread the Jamie Dixon stuff, I'm thinking as a smokescreen.

They spread it to some pretty inside people, too. I'll remind you that Charlie Hanagriff had it on his show the same day I posted it here. Guess Charlie's not worth listening to.

Why they wanted to do that I really don't have any idea, as I don't understand how it helped anybody associated with LSU given the way that hire was made.

Dixon was in negotiations with Pitt, though, so it probably helped him. Was nice of Alleva to do that for him.

If you don't want to hear information that's being put out there, some of which might not come to pass, then what the hell are you doing on a message board?

I agree. Message board info should always be taken with a grain of salt -- mine included.

So this is from Swilling or Johnny? That would be the only two "horses mouths" in this situation.

Again, this is really wierd. William Weathers of Tigerbait is claiming Swilling confirmed to him directly that he was committed.

Another story I heard was that he was committed, but LSU didn't want it out until he returned from his Mississippi State visit.

Craziness.

Very true. Good point.

Doesn't mean i dislike you as a poster by the way. I still enjoy what you have to say. Just wary of it ... though i guess if Hanagriff and all those guys also reported it then I can't blame you.

From Johnny, to a guy he used to coach at LSU with who's still employed at LSU. And please don't let's have a guessing game as to who that guy is, because this wasn't exactly an on-the-record conversation, OK?

Also told me Johnny is actively working on getting Odoh out of his letter.

Nobody was more pissed off than me about how all that stuff played out. Other than maybe the guy who fed me that info, who had the screaming red-arse about being played (his word).

OK, I know who that is. Good source.

Good news on Odoh, but kind of surprising. Coaches usually don't like to burn bridges by taking recruits from their former school. I like it, though.

Odoh is not a typical Sun Belt recruit. He had multiple CUSA offers and was once committed to Southern Miss, and many scouts think he would have had SEC offers had he not signed in the early period.

He may not be burning any bridges. Keep in mind that he gave UNT 10 years and has built them into a legit program. If the kid wants to transfer to follow Johnny, then the school should/ could let him. He is not poaching an entire recruiting class and UNT's roster is suprisingly big, 4 guys 6-8 or taller.

With the Benford hiring I think Odoh is LSU-bound

Plus he can dangle a couple of home-and-homes with UNT which would put a nice chunk of change in their pockets, and he can probably feed them a player or two. This wouldn't be a completely one-sided deal.

Pure comedy that I just came across right here. Anyone can be a guru on Twitter and this dude is posting what he claims is inside info and scoop. Work to do? Yeah, like pick up the phone and offer.
