While were on the subject of baseball, do any of you know anything about Hunter Waddell out of Shreveport? He committed to Arkansas yesterday. Is this a guy that is going pro or is there a chance he actually makes it to college?

We played Acadiana and had him 3 and 2....bases loaded....we are up 1-0 in 6th.

He takes a pitch....and it was a perfect inside strike.....umpire called it a ball.

We walk the next guy and lose the game 2-1......

He's a big guy and good player though.

Stryker Stats

I saw him at a perfect game showcase. He is better than anything we have now or coming in at catcher. It will be a tough loss if he makes it to Ole Miss.

Stryker is an amazing catcher, probably the best high school catcher I have ever seen. He can do it all....run, hit for average and power, and has rocket for an arm. PM losing him and Cecchini really hurts LSU's program. The 2012 MLB draft has a good possibility of having a hard slot meaning that the chances of Trahan and Cecchini landing on campus are better than ever. PM might want re think his decision of not wanting to recruit kids from Barbe, Zachary, etc. because of Von Rosenberg and Garin Cecchini deciding to go pro. Barbe has 5 freshman that will be SEC prospects and it looks like those kids might wind up at Ole Miss, Arkansas, etc instead of LSU. I think Paul Maneiri needs to admit that what he did to ZVR and Garin was wrong and rebuild relationships with Cassard at Zachary and Cecchini at Barbe. LSU is 3-9 in the SEC right now and the future is not looking bright.

All you have to do is go and watch how these kids conduct themselves on a baseball field and you could understand it being a "negative" to coaches that don't like showboatin' and such.

Yet we took two of three from Ole Miss......Keep telling yourself that my friend.

Cecchini and Trahan will never suit up for Ole Miss, so neither is a loss.

I think our recruiting guys are smoking crack again because they made him sound much better than that.

That is them. Good group. I haven't seen them play alot this year, but they say the twin boys are hitting the ball like they are seniors, the Fontenot kid is the heir apparent to Cecchini at SS, Leger is a tall LHP now with good stuff, Abshire has seen alot of varsity PT, and Quinn has a big arm in CF with SEC speed, same kid that was All-State Honorable mention WR in football.

I don't know if any of them will be as highly draftable as Cecchini and Trahan, maybe/maybe not, but they most likely will atleast be very good college prospects and kids we should be interested in. They have always represented LA well, have been on the biggest of stages, and would be an asset to our program.
