Why make an offer when the recruit said he wouldn't come?

how do you know if you dont offer? Just because there are 24 kids that say the want to come to lsu you dont think other teams still offer and try to get the kid to campus? If storm is so good than every instate school would offer no matter what he says. I guarantee they would have gotten that kid on campus some how.

Plenty of kids sat they want to stay instate, but other schools still offer. You have a hard on for storm and that is fine, but dont come on here and say uga didnt want to waste and offer? They didnt want to waste a scholarship on him if you ask me.

Ahhhhhhh! There it is, . . . Now all bad mouthing the kid should realize that there are two sides to a story, and should know from their own experiences around high school football programs, that there is a huge amount of political machinations that just come with the territory. Don't knock the kid because you couldn't exploit his talent to further your own career, coach.

Now, all on this board is waiting with baited breath, the LS's decision, hoping this huge gamble will pay off. Who's great idea was it to tell this kid and his folks to keep quiet anyway? The target back isn't even the same type of player, boy that was brilliant. Fortunately for LSU, there were two other backs in Gore and Blue to fill the void, and some here still don't realize how fortuitous they really are with this situation.

#1: Why so much shite talking about Storm and Storm's coach/LSUfan09?

#2: Saying he didn't practice hard is nothing new to HS Kids. Nothing out of the ordinary imo.

If memory serves me, Ware was already on board at the time of this incident. Hill and Hilliard just recently committed, and won't be on the field at LSU next year. Losing out on a back the caliber of SJ, and possibly losing out on LS is in no way justified by the two year projection of Hill and Hilliard.

I think you are under the impression that we need Storm... we don't.

Storm was the first RB commit of this class. After the fallout from he committed, no wait he didn't was over Ware came on board. At which point the Storm situation started to make a whole lot more sense.

based on what i'ved seen of film both Gore and Ware >>> Storm
He may do well on the next level, but LSU will be just fine.

In theory, you could say that about any recruit, no matter his rating. But, . . . in actuality, the Football Program needs every player who's demonstrated the ability to dominate his age group, and older peers at every position. SJ has those credentials.

It may feel and sound good to the ego, to dismiss a player, knowing that The Program stands a good chance of surviving as long as there are young gifted and athletically talented men who still believe that LSU is THE place for them to showcase and further develop their talents. But make no mistake about it, you do need athletes like SJ. Ultimately, his loss and should LS opt not to commit to LSU- his, would be an indictment on how this recruiting episode was severely botched. Not to mention, how seasoned coaches allowed SJ's situation to be influenced by a spiteful high school coach with an ax to grind with an 18 year old kid.

Just wish the kid good luck and move on. There is no need to diminish him, his talent or what he might have meant to LSU's program. It's done. Ware, Gore, and Blue should do just fine, and maybe you will be able to add Seastrunk to that list too.
