It's been 12 years. The Rivers family needs to get over Phillip not getting an offer. Auburn didn't offer him either.
Was that why the Rivers family still don't like bama ???
I don't live in Alabama so I don't know. But if you are right, then Yes, I am with you. They need to let it go.
Recruiting is an inexact science. And the Rivers is the one who got the last laugh.
Hopefully, S. Rivers will have a last laugh on Bama too

What exactly is a "Scout Poster"?

It seems like if his brother is an NFL star and he is trying to follow the same path, the family would have found a school with a better football team for him.

Mike DuBose offered Phillip Rivers as a TE. So did Auburn. Hell, most every SEC school passed on him as a QB. I don't even think their dad's Alma mater, Mississippi State, offered him as a QB. But they've always seemed to have contempt for Alabama since that happened.
I really liked Stephen Rivers as a prospect, and wanted to see Alabama offer. It didn't happen for whatever reason.

DUDE, STFU. There's not a better situation for a QB to step into than at LSU. The Tigers are loaded everywhere except QB.
I think you forgot to take your testosterone pills.

I'm sure there is more to the story. Probably some slow playing or misinformation or something like that. That happens a lot. Probably one of the main reasons John David Booty didn't even consider LSU after the way people hated Josh Booty here.

FU, he has every right to Hate Alabama for whatever reason he can think of. IF that is why he hates Alabama as much as I do then I guess I can add that to the list of reasons to hate Alabama. It will be at the bottom of a very long long list.

Who cares why he hates Bama?
Let's celebrate the fact that we share common ground in that we hate Bama. Quit making it complicated.

Really? That's good news in my book as I value your opinion pretty well.

What would be your feeling if this were a prospect from Louisiana, and a family of a solid prospect didn't think too highly of LSU?

Stephen Rivers doesn't have a lot of talent around him at Athens. He has great measurables, and can develop into a great QB, if he has the right staff to develop his skills. I suspect he'll be a good college QB, like his brother.

yeah I have heard the rest of his team is pretty much shite.
Think I've added up to about 10 drops in the first 3 games according to people that saw games?

The fact that he is from Alabama and is smart enough to hate Alabama tells me he has a good head on his shoulders.

Stephen Rivers
Since his season started, there has been Scout posters from Alabama giving first hand updates on him. Here is one I think everyone will like, plus the link. LINK
I am an Auburn fan born and raised, so I don't have a dog in this fight...I am also the team chaplain for Athens High school team. This is my second year doing this ministry for the team. I really enjoy it.
I wanted to put this on the board about a month ago, just haven't had time. Last year Stephen put up some good numbers, actually set a few school records I believe. He had some very good athletes to throw to last year. All of the skill players were seniors and signed with some college (UNA, AL ST, some Jr.college in CA.).
Here is the deal, Athens lost their entire first AND second string skill players. Also, they lost 3 of their o-line. Put it to you this way...before the first game this year, nobody had ever ran or caught a pass in a high school game. NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL!!
Needless to say all the teams are just putting 8-9 men in the box...constantly blitzing! Stephen does everything he can under the circumstances to win the game. He doesn't get rattled much, very calm demeanor.
He is a very humble guy. His dad is just a great man, very humble too and loves to coach everyone. He enjoys coaching the 3rd string as well as Stephen. I can count on one hand the times we have talked about his brother, mainly because I would imagine he gets tired of the questions. I know for a fact he put in the time in the weight room during the off season to get stronger and better. He knows he needs to get bigger and will I am sure.
So tell your friends/fans not to get worried about his numbers this year. Tonight was a perfect example: he made two throws of 40-50 yards-beautiful pass that was dropped in the end zones. On the score sheet, he will have an int. What it will not show is that the ball went through the wf's hands into the db's hands. If you can give him time, he will put it on the money!!
After he announced he was signing with LSU, the next Monday I walked in the locker room and congratulated him and his dad. A few other players were in there too. I could tell he was a little embarrassed by the attention, so I changed the subject. After everyone left, we talked more about it. I told him that I would be praying for him and hoped he did well, except when he played AU. He laughed. Then I said I hope he kills bama...his smile went away, got serious, he said I want to kill them every year!!! I can't stand that team!!
Anyway, just thought I would share this with you guys. If there is anything I can do for you guys, just let me know
Whoa, whoa.
You are aware that Elleshoe has already stated that he is a liability to his team? Keep in mind, he has analyzed the box score for over 3 minutes.

I would say "we really don't give a crap if Eli goes to Ole Miss"

Thanks Mr Rivers, tell Stephen to hang in there.

Hopefully, he can develop like Phillip did into a top notch QB. Just hope he doesn't get hurt & don't obsess over his numbers every week.
