And West Monroe got upended by a streaking Acadiana team last year. Most of us thought WM was going to go the distance. They certainly had the talent.

A weak schedule cost the Rebels come playoff time, IMO.

Sorry, I meant the highest classification in state ball at the time. Bastrop would have worn destrie out last year. We need to be more fair when we compare Louisiana regions in sports instead of north vs south. NELA can handle up on anyone in this state. Its no secret that Saban headed to the Monroe area first when he got his new job. WM had more players start in one game in college than any high school had in 2002. ( you guess the college )

I disagree. Pretty even matchup. No one could shut down Destrehan's offense last year. Two studs WRs, Jordan Jefferson at QB, and Jerico Nelson at RB. No one will realize how good that team is - until those four players show how good they are in college.

If P.J. said Tim Molten is the shite, then he is the shite. End of discussion.

That Destrehan team was loaded and pretty much unstoppable.

That's how good Destrehan was, Molten was the 4th best player on the team behind Johnson, Jefferson, and Nelson.

So, what's your fricking point....the South has PLENTY of great athletes.

LaRon Landry
Brandon Jacobs
Mwelde Moore
Jake Delhomme
Tracey Porter
Chris Williams
Chris Henry (on suspension but still a beast)

some more just off the top of my head

P.J. singled out Molten as the best wideout at the LSU camp.

For those who are interested, I talked to P.J. two nights ago. As some may know, he's already No. 2 on the depth chart at FS.

Pelini is evidently very high on this true freshman, considering that P.J. is higher on the depth chart than many veterans.

No. 13 isn't satisfied though. He said, "I want to be No. 1!" Gotta love his tenacity.

I don't see him unseating Jr. FS Larry Asante for the starting role, but being no. 2 your first week of school is pretty impressive. Geaux Big Red!

In the past North Louisiana has got College QB's and a few NFL ones.

Terry Bradshaw
Joe Ferguson
Bert Jones
josh booty?
John David Booty
(I'm from Shreveport and I am f*&king tired of hearing about them but I kind of have to include them)
STAN HUMPHRIES-haha I forgot about him

I get in this argument all the time with my friends.

Regardless of which region is stronger in football, its impressive how Louisiana has so much talent for such a small state.

If you did it per capita, then the North would blow out the south. 2 of the top 3 largest cities in the state are in the south, then add lafayette, Lake Chuck. The north has Shreveport and Monroe. I am proud to be from the state PERIOD but if your going to compare, you have to throw that in there

i agree that the north owned the 90 s.but the south is probably stronger now.but if you think about it most the teams are in the south.

I think the depth in the South may be better but as far as top-end D1 talent the North definitely leads
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
North - Bradie James Wm, Tommy banks wm, anderew whitworth sm, rudy niswanger ocs, anthony mcfarland winnsboro, brock berlin evangel, john david booty evangel, pat williams wossman, jonathan wilhite ophs, eric edwards ocs, srnaz battle byrd, just off the top of my head. hate to say but south has nfl dominated in my opinion.
