Choctaw, you really should be on the payroll. You spend more time defending Miles and his staff in recruiting then those guys actually spend recruiting.

Go back to lurking. You shouldn't discuss recruiting and probably a lot of other things.

It is a talented class and no doubt some good players here, but it is still worth discussing why the top 3 would not want to come here, and why a recruit would say something this controversial. Just ignoring it is not dealing with the question at hand.

Its his decision, I just wish some one would help him pack and kindly show him to the state line.

I agree that criticism is okay at this point. But you also have to take in account that this is a really good class that we have. All these people are jumping on here saying that it is such an awful recruiting year is bullshite.

yea...you also said that LSU would be on a slide downward a couple of years ago and that Miles was a dead coach walking. so i'm just gonna keep assuming that you don't know what you're talking about.

yeah i mean shep almost stupidly declared for the draft for a reason. boone almost transferred for a reason. blackwell and d-lo were upset and outspoken for a reason. unfortunately not all of the guys can handle themselves like jarrett lee and brandon taylor and say the right things.
lsu sponsored radio stations can blame this on fans all they want.

another top 15 class?
not terrible, but barely acceptable...should not be applauded but seen as needed a lot of improvement

People see and hear what they want to see and hear. Texas is full of kids with high Rivals and Scout rankings who have completely failed to live up to their hype. Players are transferring out and are not happy at Texas, either.
Honestly, you'll hear similar complaints at every school other than Bama (well, I am sure the kids in line to be processed aren't happy, either, as we can see from numerous articles in teh Wall Street Journal and other top publications).

Torshiro was ALWAYS impressed with Texas from his very first visit. He said at that time it opened his eyes that there was an entire world outside of La that someone coming from his background had not really been exposed to before then. If you go back and read from the very beginning of his recruitment Texas was always a draw to him. I do think he needed something to really give himself permission to go with his heart and some of the players not being happy in Baton Rouge was an easy one. But I really do think Texas is where he wanted to be. Also, LSU has talked a lot about him playing LB. He never has and when he had to at the ARMY game he talked about how uncomfortable he was with it.
He hasn't had very many wins at all at Woodlawn during his 4 years there so going to a team that wasn't 13-1 won't be a problem. Also, the level of competition he has faced, in my opinion, has not really proven what his ceiling will be so it is really hard to say today what we have lost.
As a graduate of Woodlawn myself and wanting him at LSU I have followed his recruitment closely and can honestly say I am not surprised at all that he announced TEXAS and I do believe it is in his best interest.
And I'm very excited about the players we have added to our already damn fine football team. Geaux Tigers

I agree And I honestly think that most of the ones bitching about how 'awful' this class is would have done so no matter what happened with Davis and UT. They'd have just waited until Collins sent his loi into Bama and started bitching about losing the top two. This just gave them an excuse to bitch a little earlier.

The operative word is 'seem'. Hard to tell where that is coming from (player twitter, fan outrage, press, etc...). However, if he wanted to be a Tiger, he'd be a Tiger. Now he is Tiger Bait.
Don't appreciate his process, but it is what it is and he has to live with it.

This is what happens when you completely mismanage on a big stage.
No question there is player discontent with the way the entire JJ and Lee thing was handled.
You can bash this kid all you want but how do you explain the top 4 of 5 players in the state going elsewhere this year. Is that a Gerry DiNardo type of thing happening? I'm not saying we are headed for those days at all but don't bury your head in the sand.
We will fall to probably 3rd or 4th in our own conference with this recruiting class. It's only one class but Les has enough talent to get him through this year but what will the future hold?
Bama embarrassed us on 1/9 and they are cleaning our clock in recruiting.
Stay tuned.

U ever been to Austin ????????
Nice and a better education. Texas actually funds their "flagship" university with big $ unlike our false promise governor cutting our budget.
