Lacy was lighting them up. They changed coverage to double him high-low. They also changed coverage on Taylor too.

The result: Those two were only targeted a combined 2 times in the second half.

I'd thank him to turning our program around. It all started with him. People like Les Miles and Ed Orgeron should be thanking him as well.

Our program was good to mediocre and inconsistent. He made us a winner and established a culture.

Brian Kelly can thank him as well.

Did he look tentative last night? Yes. I think JD is a good QB and maybe under the right leadership he would look great.

Lacy drops a sure TD and another big play that would have resulted in 10 points at least not including momentum changer.

That probably gives him nearly 400 yards passing. This certainly wasn't all on JD. Do I think Nuss gives us a better chance? I'm not so sure. He's inexperienced.

We will go as far as the oline and DB's take us this year. JD will be JD. Good and sometimes great.

The DB situation is a problem that I don't think gives solved.

It's certainly not happening this year. That went out the window last night. No team has been beaten that badly and made the playoffs. They would have to run the table which isn't going to happen either. We might get to 9 or 10 wins again but that won't get you there.

The truth is it's hard to keep your job in Baton Rouge. I think it's the Nick Saban curse. He set the standard and rewrote the book on standards at Bama. We are chasing.

I think there is more to the O story. That and he wasn't a very good coach. He was blessed with a great defensive mastermind in Aranda and lighting struck in a bottle with Brady.

If you consider when we fired Miles people were not lining up to come here. I think O was our 4th or 5th choice.

#1 it's the SEC. #2 its the SEC West (arguably most difficult division of the most difficult conference in the country). Add to that you play Bama every year and are expected to compete.

We have the talent to play with anyone but we have not had the right person in charge. Personally I think Riley would have been a terrific hire. Aranada I'm less excited about. After that no one really gets me fired up. We may need to take a flyer when we really can't afford to take a flyer.
