I don’t think you realize how much you are contradicting yourself. 2 years is enough time to give him all the credit for any success, yet it’s not enough time to blame him for any shortcomings…
He developed 2 first round WRs first. Now, Aaron Anderson in only his 2nd year playing and first year starting for LSU, is on pace for over 900 yards and 7 TDs. Kyren Lacy in his first year starting as #3 had 560 and 7 TDs and with a worse QB is on pace for 960 and 9 TDs as the #1 receiver.
HIS SECOND YEAR RECEIVERS, one left, one got hurt and out for the year, and one has not cracked the top 5. However not cracking the top 5 is not as bad as many want to believe it is with this group.
HIS FIRST YEAR RECEIVERS, are a track guy and a traits guy behind tons of vets.
I can not understand how any of you have a hard time following any of this. It's like im talking to the worst students in the class.
By the end of next year Hankton, in a 7 year span, will have coached (for 2+ years each), and/or recruited at least 7 WRs that will go in the top 3 rounds of the draft. He already has 5 drafted in the first 2 rounds over the past 3 years with 4 drafted in 2024. Lacy and Anderson will be top 3 round picks. Daniels, if he stays another year, could be a top 3 round draft pick.

The Wrs this year have under whelmed.
A is getting better but very small..Would ba great slot but not WR1.
Lacy has regressed, no separation , no speed and stupid penaltoes to kill momentum/drives.
Sampson is MIA
Watkins MIA
Billiott MIA
Hilton may as well portal now, no ability to run and jump
Hilton and Daniels when healthy are good WR 2/3 but not SEC 1.
Any way besides that whats he done this year? Got a big raise/paper title CO OC.

This team has several problems. The defense has improved, and that is good. I don’t understand he bad OL play. That’s the huge head scratcher for me. The talent in this class has to be developed.

Usually by this time of the season, we see a frosh show potential to emerge. We haven't seen that this season. I think Parker could be the steady influence. That said, in real years he will be a junior next season. We still need "that guy". I'm not sure that guy is on the roster.

if you are using the metric of total defense to gauge that you are dumb and not a football guy.
I've seen tons of defensive calls botched by bad tackling, missed ints, and sometimes just shear toughness.
The defensive scheme is what I want from a defense.
The players that are running it.....not so much. However, they are better than they were last year.

LOL, I've been a football guy longer than you've been alive. 97th. You are what the numbers say you are. Compared to last season that is improvement. But, how fun was it to watch Marcel and Milroe run right up the middle of our improved defense. LSU needs some more studs. FTR, I think Baker is the guy for us.

This thread sucks and needs a reset.

Kyle Parker was about to break out this year and got hurt for the rest of the season
Not sure you can for sure say he was about to break out. He had 3 catches, 55 yards and 1 td through 3 and a half games. 45 yards and the td came on one play against UCLA. Doesn’t necessarily scream breakout season to me
Posted on 11/19/24 at 9:14 pm to kajunman
Nah you haven’t…it’s quite obvious.

Tbf, he was also hurt on the first series of the game against USC and I don’t think he played again until UCLA.

If we did that it would be incredible. Now think about if Dak Moore stayed with us.. Would be the GOAT class

Now Draco, that's something we agree on.

If you're going to make the argument that his current commits are not good enough, then you can't argue that the highly ranked players he just brought in are not good enough because then you're being inconsistent about what makes a good recruit. If you want to go by their recruiting rankings, fine; he has had a number of very highly ranked recruits. If you want to go by on-field production for LSU, fine; you can't argue his current class is bad until they don't produce after 3-4 years. Pick your poison.
